I sorted out my bags of goodies at the weekend and i want to give most of them away, but would like to give it away to other women battling serious illness. I asked at a local cancer charity today and they said try somewhere else. Basically no thanks:mad:
I dont know what else to do. I know from past experience that the local refuge wont accept the items, i have rang them in the past wanting to donate items or clothes, but all they ever accept is money. I dont want to give it to a charity shop though.
PLease, if someone has any ideas, help me here. I wont beat around the bush, i feel like !!!!!! (ive been for a biopsy today:o ) and know if someone was thoughtful enough to give me a bag of Boots goodies, it would make my day. But thanks to everyone here, my cupboard is stuffed and i want to cheer at least one other person up (have enough to cheer up several:T ).
Will stop waffling now but am open to any ideas:o And yes, coming on here is taking my mind off the pain, even though i should be resting:eek:0 -
ZZtopgirl, That is so kind of you and I cant believe that some of these organisations only want cash. On a personal level I think someone would be completely overwhelmed by a gesture like that.
I really dont know what you could do as its hard actually getting to the people who need things without going through other channels first.
you take care of yourself, my thoughts are with you x :AI Can resist everything, except Temptation x:o0 -

Why not store for a church fete or something, do a tombola or sale, and then give the money to your chosen charity?~*Cerenia*~

Hi, just a thought, what about residential, nursing homes and hospices, they could use some for Bingo or raffle prizes. I only suggest this as mum seems to come back loaded with nice smellies on a Friday after her bingo win. Think the home pay for them or perhaps they get donated?.
Just a thought.
Sorry if i have copied too much of the quote, still very new to this and trial and error if it works!

how about asking your local hospital if they can suggest anything. They may have an idea what would be best.
Hope your results give you the all clear. Try not to worry, I know its hard but try your best.
I had to have some cells taken from a lump in my breast, it was the longest week of my life. Luckily I was given the all clear.0 -
Hi, I seem to have loads of Boots vouchers that will run out at the end of the month. I have AC machine vouchers, vouchers from the No7 wrap and some others if they are any good to you. Please feel free to PM me if you are looking for anything specific as I may have it if you don't mind sending a SAE.
I would be interested in any vouchers for Boots points when you buy Huggies or even Tesco point vouchers when you buy nappies, wipes, etc, thanks.0 -
hello marymilkmaid local fellow mser! Yes I've been made to feel awful quite a few times but with the help and advice on here have developed a thicker skin and tend to prey on the saturday girls now as they flash any voucher through! Wishing you all the best, have family battling lymphoma at the moment and its hard enough watching let alone being the person suffering. What about finding a social club that would raffle the items and then donate the money.0 -

our local town has a cancer suport center, it might be worth going straight to a center and saying you would like to donate some items, the centers might be more willing to accept,
the other place might be something like a surestart baby group, these often run programmes for women with post natel depression etc, the people who deal with sure start tend to not have much money and they were very supportive towards us when the twins were small, this might be a good place to donate some items to
