Hi, my gf has bought a lovely old antique shelving unit which she wants in our Edwardian home. The problem is, the alcove it is to go in means the light switch is covered by it!
OK, here's my last suggestion on this one.
Fit junction box, extend cable to fit switch in desired position, then put books or antique plates or photo of dog on the lovely old antique shelving unit, to hide the junction box.
It would then be inconspicuous and comply with Part P !0
