    What about camping ?
We stayed at a campsite that is council run in Cardiff for the very same reason everywhere was booked up.

I think it was just called cardiff camping park ,It was ideally located within walking of the centre
If you need more details pm me
  • I take it you've already tried the travel lodge, we stayed in the Newport Hilton, it was very nice.
  • Big Sleep hotel in Cardiff - well rated and not exhorbitant.

I've stayed there a few times & always enjoyed it

I wonder if anyone can help, I'm trying to book accomodation in Cardiff (or roundabouts) for the Speedway GP in June (29/06/07 - 01/07/07) I need either 2 x twin rooms or 4 single and everywhere I try its fully booked:confused: Does anybody know of anywhere I could try? It doesnt have to be in the city centre itself as long as there is access by train or bus (or not too expensive by taxi).

Any help would be hugely appreciated :)

Have you thought about staying Barry, it is about 8 miles from Cardiff, train runs every 20 mins, there is a pub/hotel around the corner, if you are interested will find out name for you, train fare, I think is about £2.80

Have you tried the Mason Arms in Whitchurch? They are far enough out that they may have a room available for those dates, but near enough to still be a ten minute bus ride (one side) or a ten minute train ride (the other side) into cardiff. Its also above a really nice pub which means the men folk would be well catered for and just around the corner from the fab Whitchurch Village where there are lots of shops and other pubs :D

Cheap taxi to nearest train station think it was about £5-£10
  • You could always stay in Merthyr Tydfil. There is a really good train and bus service into Cardiff. It does stop quite early though. My top tip is stay at the Nant Ddu Lodge. Fantastic.
This is my quest, to follow that star, no matter how hopeless, no matter how far.
