Bank admission of fault, yet not prepared to put things right

  • By signing the disclaimer you are agreeing to the compensation offered and that you are happy with their response

if you are not happy , let them know. then go to ombudsman, but they may say it wasn't banks fault, so you might not get anything
  • it wasn't advice

you should have checked with travel agent

Not sure what you mean by "it wasnt advice" - the bank advised me on how to go about accessing my money in Cameroon and provided me with the tools to do it. Their advice was incorrect.

There are no travel agents that can advise you on Cameroon, its not your normal holiday destination. I did ask the Cameroon Embassy in London, their advice was to speak with my bank.
  • Al Mac - this may not be. Trust me I have seen worse, I saw a customer in bank. He didn't like his 2 week holiday abroad, so he wanted bank to give him money back. It happens

How did you book trip to cameroon - could you not ask others that have gone? like online

and banks shouldn't have to give you advice on this
  • Do you think they will Al Mac? I'm not so sure, but who knows

I would probably say you are a troll.

You haven't really come to ask advice, you've come to mouth off, without actually keeping your posts consistant.

I should imagine you'll up sticks and moan somewhere else in the not to distant future.

    Good luck.

Did I wrong you in another life or something Al Mac? I actually did come in for advice, and this is my first experience of a forum. I will certainly not be upping sticks and moving on to moan about something else, and I certainly am not a troll. I think someone with over 7000 posts should be careful about how they refer to someone elses forum useage.
  • This site can not give you advise, nor can the bank, sorry

Banks sholdnt have to give advice on how to access your acount while away - why do they offer special acounts for this purpose then?
  • special accounts for what?

If your saying 7000 posts makes me bad, you ain't going to like a lot of people around here.

    To go through you issues.

For travel advice, see a travel agent.

For dodgy countries, HMG has a website for details.

For miss sold products, complain to the bank, when all else fails contact the banking ombudsman.

If you are happy with the offer, sign the letter, it is standard practice. If you don't they wont give you the money, as you could still apply for compensation.

If you are not happy. Banking ombudsman or lawyer, is the way to go.

I am not saying anything makes you bad, but you clearly have plenty to say about me being bad just because I disagree with you. you have called me a spoilt brat and a troll. you are almost right about one thing though, I was here for advice, but I wont be taking any from you. I have found that I have had to defend myself from your posts from very early on, when I was just asking what people thought about it all and what I could possibly do next - here you are in all your glory 15 or so posts and a lot of abuse later with a proper response - pity I dont want it anymore isnt it

    Good luck to you too
