thanks for the good wishes claudie and sloppy
claudie my understanding is u are predisposed to gallstones so u will pretty much get them whatever u do if u have that predisposition... factors are female, fat, forty and fair.. that pretty much covers me tho i have lost a lot of weight now (which is another factor lol). oh well roll on its removal
sloppy sorry to hear about yr infection hope its going now.. i am pleased to say my discharge has now stopped.. u be careful u arent overdoing it
xx
Oh dear that is me too!! It makes me smile that I have had so many bits removed over the years but I keep gaining weight:oThe smallest deed is greater than the grandest intention ~ Anonymous0 -
i wish i could STOP losing weight right now. ihave zero appetite and now been told by doc to eat low fat til the op .. now that may sound ok to most of u but i am an atkins follower (lost 8stone with it) so lowfat sounds a bit alien to me lol
sorry i seem to have changed this thread from ablation talk to gallstone talk .. lol only us women could manage that

Well i am feeling loads better now, infection has cleared up and im not aching every time i move.
Still get a little tired come early evening but that i can cope with.
Discharge is very minimal now and i now dont feel like i need to go to the loo countless times a day.
Had my first nights full sleep last night without having to get up during the night to go to the toilet.

Hi,
I had the novasure ablation done on 14 April, was sent home that day with two different types of painkiller, took one on the evening I got home just to ensure no pain during night but didn't need any more. I expected to have some bleeding after as I bled for 6 weeks after having mirena coil fitted but there was nothing. At expected period time I had a slight discharge so am extremely pleased with the procedure and would recommend it to anyone.0 -
I would echo helenh's comments and recommend the procedure to anyone. I couldn't get on with the mirena coil at all (it fell out during a period) so I had Microwave ablation in March 2008; I had the procedure at 11am, was really ill (just with low blood pressure) and had to have 100% oxygen for a few hours afterwards but I was ok to go home in the afternoon. At 5pm that evening, I was sitting in my kitchen feeling so well that I wondered if I'd dreamed it all! I didn't need the painkillers and haven't looked back.
I was a bit disappointed at first because although my periods became lighter, they still lasted 7-8 days for about 10 months, but they've now dwindled to pretty much nothing and last just 3 days start to finish.
The real upside is that I had been really anaemic for years because of the heavy blood loss and could barely make it through a day without being exhausted, and always had to duck out of parties etc, but I started getting better immediately after the MEA and now feel like a spring chicken again.0
