I make up my bottles after letting the water cool for 30 minutes in the kettle, its still very hot, so much so when I got to shake the bottles it almost burns me from the heat, definately hot enough to kills the nasty bugs.0

My bottles are usually made up a couple of hours in advance, and are half formula, half breast milk. Once they're made up, I rarely warm the bottle when she needs it. There's probably a couple of times when I've used a bottle that hasn't been through the steam steriliser. I've maybe miscounted a scoop of formula if I've made a bottle in the middle of the night. I have breastmilk stored in the fridge usually a day in advance. If I'm going out the bottles are made boiling from the start and have cooled sufficently before she needs them. Current HV doesn't find anything wrong with that.
The point being- no-one's perfect, and there doesn't seem to be a dedicated way. Each midwife Ive seen has given me a different way, from making up the formula, storing it, whether her feeds should be 50/50, or dedicated breast in one bottle, and formula the next. How hot/cool they should be, etc....
They're always made using boiled water- this seems to be the only point anyone agrees on!0
