I've been very quiet recently, sorry. I was off with flu for a week then hurt my back so not seen my little lotty for a couple of weeks:(
on the plus side i have orange thyme, thyme, rosemary and basil sprouting, I've sown the purple carrots and will do the flyaway carrots at the weekend.
I really need to pull my finger out now and get things going, I've been very slow to get started this year!
The blueberry and bilberry I've got in pots in the garden are really starting to come to life now, I can't wait to get on the lotty and find out what else is starting to happen, hopefully all the soft fruit will be showing signs of life.freecycler and skip diver extraordinnaire:cool:0 -

I never said I was complaining! If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Oh and my marigolds are in the blowaway and it looks like they have all germinated. I have about 10 babies poking their heads up.
My aubergines were really slow to germinate too, and the bell peppers even slower. But I sowed them just over a month ago and I've now got nice little rows of seedlings of both - not big enough to !!!!! out yet, but definitely nice and healthy!
Must sow some marigolds today - feels like I'm the last to do so!I'm broke, not poor. Poor sounds permanent, broke can be fixed. (Thoroughly Modern Millie)

Just made me laugh. I accept that's more down to my interpretation though.Herman - MP for all!0 -
I have flowers on one of my chillis too but its one I over wintered. This years ones weren't sown till 7th March and have only got 1 set of true leaves, except for the tobasco ones, they have just decided to germinate, seed leaves should be out in a week or so!
I sowed some marketmore q's 3 weeks ago and no signs of life but I was chancing it with 4 year old seed, I've only got crystal lemons left so they will have to do for this year.......hubby will complain it doesn't look like a q but he eats whatever is put in front of him like a good, well trained hubby should:D

The fencing guys are hard at work putting up my super duper new featherboard fence, and in honour of the occasion, and because the lovely sunny day is inspiring me (and because I've the whole day off work!), I've had a bonanza sowing session.
I've sowed seeds of: pumpkins Baby Bear, Honey Bear, Sweet Dumpling, tomato Gardener’s Delight, and flowers: Sweet Cicely, French Marigold, home saved lupins, anise hyssop, hyssop, and stocks.
In spite of being adamant that no windowsills would have seed trays on them, my north facing bedroom sill now has no room left!
MrBE, I find with home saved marigold seeds, only between a quarter and half germinate. I think that's because I save the lot, but the really thin ones and tiny ones don't ever grow, so don't be downhearted
If I'm over the hill, where was the top?0 -
Beautiful day here in central Scotland. Makes me want to magically turn my 'garden' (raised beds on part of driveway in reality), into a lush forest type affair with bountiful fruit and veg plants everywhere you look.
I'm just back from Aldi. I bought some small pots so I don't freak out my next lot of transplanted seedlingsand a raspberry bush thing and a blackberry one too. £3 each, thought they were worth a go and they looked really healthy (to my untrained eye).
What do I do with them?:o
By that I mean should they stay indoors until it's past frost risk or can they go outside now?Herman - MP for all!0 -

You're certainly not the last. I've bought some packets at the weeken which I am yet to sow. Might get around to doing it this afternoon as I'm off work waitig for a delivery or maybe at the weekend.
Do most popel sow them onside or out? Not sure whether they need to be inside or would germinate fine a my cold frames.0 -

Heh, I'm not the last now - I sowed them this morning - in a tray indoors as that's what it said on the packet for this time of year. I'm still very much at the going by what it says on the packet stage! It said you could sow them outdoors from April. I did that last year, but so many weeds came up with them that I didn't know which were the marigolds!I'm broke, not poor. Poor sounds permanent, broke can be fixed. (Thoroughly Modern Millie)
