That's a good idea, never grown them as the snails got them whilst I was hardening off:mad:
I'd never eaten a BNS till a few years ago and I was hooked, shame they're expensive.
You'll like the round courgettes, they taste nicer and even hubby thinks so and he is most definitely not a fan of them but, like a well trained hubby, he eats what he's given

I've just spotted on another forum that it was your birthday a few days ago MBE, and you didn't save us any cake

so here's a virtual one to share :bdaycake: Hope you had a soberish one this time!0 -

Halloween is our deadline, because it all started with pumpkins.
I've won the last three competitions (runner beans, walking stick kale, swede) but I can pretty much guarantee I'll not win this one. I think my mate in Norfolk's going to walk it. Unless, of course, he's been telling me fibs.
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Thanks for asking.mrbadexample wrote: »Hey John, how you getting on these days? You all mended now? Relieved the wife from garden duties?
Saw the surgeon Thursday for the last time and he assured me that the incisional hernias are 100% now and the few things left over from the ruptured aneurism are possibly permanent and as he says is "a price I have to pay" for still being here. It probably seems a bigger pain to me because of always having been so fit and never needing doctors or hospitals. BUT, the alternative wasn't an option so I would just say it's a bit of a hinderence for me and my wife, as she still has to do some things for me.
As for the gardening, she's going to pull a lot of the carrots out next week because I kept them covered with a large cloche and forgot about watering so they are very small. But the rest of the gardening I can do now. A bit more training and she'll not be too bad.:D0 -
Forgot to tell you that I had to do the nursing bit 2 weeks ago. She wanted me to drop her in town to meet her friend for coffee a fortnight yesterday and I said "I'll drop you by the lights and you can just cross the road and into the cafe" ok says she but on approaching the centre of town she changes the drop off point. So I take her where she wanted and out she popped and I started to reverse to turn to go home and just turned my head left to look in my mirror only to see her a few yards away in a heap on the ground. Turns out she saw someone she knew and they both spoke and she tripped over the kerb and landed on her chin and her arm and knee. Looked like I'd given her a right hook later that day.mrbadexample wrote: »Relieved the wife from garden duties?
Bruises mostly gone now but arm still a bit sore. I did let her off a few days and worked her back in slowly.
She's had to do all the hoovering for the last couple of years but I'm OK to do it again now so thought I'd best start back with a new one. Got a Dyson DC33 fromm Tesco Direct for £149:99 they are £269 in Argos0 -
Good to hear about you, sorry to hear about your wife!
Good day today - went to the Malvern Autumn show. Spent far too much, but got 20 packets of seeds for £4.00. Total retail price £40.28. :money:
