That's actually two or three together. ;)
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

Well that's the last of my tom plants gone in the bin this morning. Once they were affected the blight just spread too quickly. The baby toms that were growing didn't stand a chance, they turned brown really quickly.

My pepper plants still look healthy but seem static and not doing much.

My cucumber plant is still producing cucs but slowly now.

    Courgette plant the same.

I got one baby cauliflower but my broccoli had to get binned as it had been eaten alive and was just a mass of leaves on a long stem which was providing shelter for hundreds of beasties. (To be fair, I had neglected it :o)

Not a particularly good harvest considering the time effort and money that was involved setting up.

I bought some more seeds but I'm not sure whether to bother now tbh. We had -2 temps the other night and huge swathes of ducks in formation flew overhead, I'm assuming flying south for winter.

I can't see the weather being favourable for further growing. :undecided

Ok, I have to make a little confession. The pepper's not mine. I went to have a look round Sandwell Valley Victorian Kitchen Garden, and it was in on of their greenhouses. It's obviously a number of years old, but it's massive and covered with fruit. Well worth a look round if you get the chance. :)

Ahhh, now I feel as though you've taken advantage of my naivity!

How does it keep for so many years? Is it just that the greenhouse protects it through the winter and so it grows larger each spring/summer?

I'm sorry to hear your toms have suffered so late :( A few peeps seem to be losing plants at the last minute and it's a horrible shame.

We've had a string of grey days and some chilly overnight temps this last week, but we're forecast to warm up a bit again. I wonder if you're due a warm spell again too? Perhaps there are things you could sow now for winter crops? I imagine they should be used to autumnal type weather.

I think they heat their greenhouse. It has pineapples in it too. ;)

That's why I confessed. Couldn't have you thinking it was mine for too long. :p I'd say that pepper is several years old.
