annoying.....
Rain, rain and more rain here
That's often the case with males, never around when you need them
My rooted squash runner has yet to grow 4 leaves never mind flowers:rotfl:
After having had only a small % of rain here that we should have had for 18 months I find this constant rain and gray skies really depressing. Since it started at the beginning of April I've had 15 days when it hasn't rained in total and 10 days of sun. I'm amazed I've grown anything this year.0 -

Don't worry, some of my squashes have hardly 4 leaves, it's bloody depressingFreedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
I went out to water what is in the greenhouse last night. As I walked across the lawn, the squelching was phenomenal. Just shows how soaked the ground is. No need for a hosepipe ban!
Anyhows, I have tomato plants with flowers about to open!:jIt's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

:rotfl: Sorry, but that really tickled me!! :rotfl:
My back garden grass is the same & we have more heavy rain forecast in the next couple of days...
My strawberries are growing, albeit slowly, but they're getting to a decent size at least, although still green. Loads of runners coming off them ~ should I nip them off, would that encourage growth in the fruit a bit more??
Raspberry has a few more leaves
Peppers/chillis are the same ~ I'm amazed they're still alive tbh
Potatoes are 'growing'... still in their packaging & in the garage where I put them out of the way & promptly forgot all about them
I've decided this year is just for learning about growing fruit & veg. I'm also starting to be of the opinion that the West facing slice of side garden is not going to be a great place to grow thingsIt does get the sun but I'd have to place things next to the fence/wall so they'd either be in full sun or complete shade, depending on what time of day it was. Plus it's a wind-tunnel round there
I'm still dithering about what to do to make it less open to the elements.
Oh well...
mbe, I love your pond :T'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -

Sounds just like my lawn - the squelching is incredible. None of my tomato plants has flowers yet and don't look like they will in the near future. All my brassicas are half eaten, the only good things are my strawberries as I managed to collect a punnets worth.0 -
I've just snapped the top off my best tom plant!!!!!!
Haven't been in the garden for around 3 or 4 days and the plants have been left to their own devices.
My best plant has grown big and has fallen sideways away from the support.
I went to move it to tie it up and the thing snapped in my hand.
*insert mega bad words here*Herman - MP for all!0 -

The slugs have eaten my courgette plants from top to bottom
all 4 of them gone.
They are REALLY making me mad!! :mad:Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
