Safe to say I will not be having cucumber in my Pimms this summer:
Both overwatered. Both very dead.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
But I will be having mint for my mojitos:
The dark one at the front right is a black peppermint - really nice.
Kohl rabi:
Beetroot ready soon:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Somehow the chillies and peppers seem pretty good this year. I'm sure I've not had them this early before:
Big Jim:
Corno rosso:
Fatali:
Mohammed's hot:
Nardello:
Purple Venezuelan:
Wenk's Yellow Hot:
Pretty pleased with that lot.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
By ek MBE you like your chillis:rotfl:, they all look brilliant though. Mine are about 2" high!
My Mesembryanthemums have finally started to flower Hurrah! Only have 2 but very excited, never grown them before and I have a strawberry starting to go red!!!!!
Toms are flowering at last, they are in a hanging basket but brought it back into the greenhouse which was the right decision.
My radishes seem to be growing quite well over the last week, just need them to fatten up a bit.

Right then, a quick round up of everything else:
Outdoor tomatoes:
They're ok, but seem to be in slow motion at the moment.
Squash:
I think the spuds are liking the water:
The walking onions are thinking about one small step for onionkind:
Runner beans, achocha in the flower bucket, leeks in the tray:
Competition carrots, and onions:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
The lavender's still got problems:
Part of the plant looks fine, but some bit are dying. This is what killed the first one I had - bit by bit it just died. I'd cut back the poorly bits and another bit would fail.
I have taken a couple of cuttings, which I think have taken:
They're on the left. Also got a poorly gherkin (I need to resow), rosemary cutting and thirsty garlic chives. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Greenhouse tomatoes look better:
First few fruit on the Galina,
And a nice big truss on the Red Cluster Pear:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Liquorice is looking nice:
PSB waiting for the spuds to come out:
I need to prepare a few cauliflower like that. Comfrey tea's brewing in the tub with the blue lid. The comfrey itself is starting to come back after the first couple of cuts:
The free compost spuds should be ready soon:
Can't wait to see what I'll get.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
And finally the pond:
The brooklime in the middle is spreading beautifully. Water lilies are up, water hawthorn is flowering all over the place. The water went a bit frothy and a bit green but is now really clear. There's loads of mosquito larvae in there, so I've thinking about getting some Aldrovanda, a carnivorous water plant.
Apologies to those on dialup for the photos. Things could be a lot worse, considering the weather. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

If I remember rightly you sowed them in your home made compost, so that could be the answer for early chillies.
Great looking butternut squash;) and most other things looking really good too especially considering the weather this year.
Those free spuds look like the purple ones from last year, I unexpectedly have them too in a few places this year!
When did your lawn shrink? I must have missed that post but I'm sure you had lawn next to the left hand side of your path.
You lavender will be happier in a pot with free draining soil sitting baking in the sun, well as and when we get any.0
