:jIt hasn't rained since 3pm and none due till Friday :j
At last, 48 hours none stop is too much, my poor little garden can start to drain a bit, and my sofa dry out, shame I'm not at home to work in the garden but never mind.
Don't shout about it! You're just asking for trouble.
:shhh: I've also had a dry day today. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
He's Back. Who was it said he'd emigrated?0

I know but I was so excited about not getting wet
Garden is looking amazingly green for the time of year and my round courgettes are growing like mad I noticed tonight, about the only thing that is though.0 -
I've got blue sky:j and a quick look in the garden produced the first red strawberry, very tasty it was too:D0

I remember my one and only strawberry... Before the wind and rain came and destroyed the others!! Bitter.... me?Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
Cor. That strawberry never even got to enjoy a bit of sunshine before it was gone. Don't think even the slugs would have been much quicker.:D0

Can I boast - five strawberries and four broad beans so far - and hopefully plenty more to come!0

Had a better look than this morning and found some of my green strawberries are turning brown:(
They have fungus Botrytis cinerea, and nothing can be done:(
It's just been too wet, gray and damp, so will pull that lot up I think, and save some runners this year from other plants. The others are looking fine so far.
Even after living here for 20 years you can still get 'a first' happen, same as the spud blight a few years ago, never mind, the good thing with gardening is there's always next year;)
My last butternut squash looks like it's dying very slowly even though I took it out of the soggy ground and put it in a tub, leaves look lifeless and limp.
On a plus point I found and have scoffed 4 yellow raspberries:j and one more strawberry but something had had a nibble out of, so cut that bit off, rinsed it and ate it.
My peas have got a few more flowers so that 7 pods due:o
and I've got 9 cherries left on my tree which look as though they are just starting to turn red.
My basil looks as though it's been kept in the fridge, other herbs looking ok, and out of 16 Kong sunflowers I've got 1 left. It's got a little ring of slug stopper around it.
Potatoes in tubs look better than those in the ground this year, I assume due to drainage, so grateful for the morrisons flower bucket fairy who gave me some
Question I have found 2 more Ponca squash seeds, should I have a gamble and sow them now? or is it too late and better to hold onto them for next year?0 -
Just popped outside to tidy up a bit and found this... what's happened to my cucumber???
It's gone completely floppyI was in the garden last night potting on some pepper plants, and my cuc didn't look like this at all. Even the one next door is looking slightly iffy.
This is how they were maybe two weeks ago or more, really perky:
Is there anything I can do?0
