I'm sure yours will be fine, they've been used to a bit of heat and sun before going out.
Btw, the way you're going, you'll have a small bed at the side to grow 'lawn' and the rest of the garden will be given over to veg! :rotfl:
My lawn is getting smaller and smaller, to an extent the kids have started complainingFreedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
Had a bit of luck on Freecycle today - someone in my village getting rid of a selection of pots, including two nice big bucket and a wide, shallow pot thing kind of like a plastic basket. Plus a few small growbags and a hanging growbag for tomatoes that you apparently grow tomatoes out of the bottom! I assume that's for trailing cherry tomatoes or something, or would a normal one work upside down???I'm broke, not poor. Poor sounds permanent, broke can be fixed. (Thoroughly Modern Millie)

We like Freecycle.
I've heard of the growing-tomatoes-upside-down thing, but I wouldn't personally bother unless I was seriously pushed for space. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

I should do that. I really should. I could have a nice patch about 6' square, with posh lawn in it. You know, the sort that's just grass. :rotfl:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Just grass? What, you mean you're not supposed to have loads of dandelions and daisies and clover in it???? :-PI'm broke, not poor. Poor sounds permanent, broke can be fixed. (Thoroughly Modern Millie)

The only use for grass IMHO is to use the clippings for mulch. We moved here on the Thursday, and the weekend after it was a bank hol so we hired a rotavator and rotavated the grass, put weed fabric down, wood around to make beds around the edges, and put 5 x 2m square beds in for the veg. Then covered the paths with bark which we have just upgraded to purple slate. Nobody really needs grass do they?If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
I'm going to spend some time pottering outside today. Might even take my toms and pepper plant off the window sill and outside for a bit of an adventure.
Loving this weather!!0 -
I'm in the middle of potting all my toms up - I am growing about 40 varieties this year so one of each is going up the lottie in a pot and lots are going in the ground. I am only growing a couple in the greenhouse, that is being saved for chillis, peppers and cukes and rare beans. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0

Me too - ish. I'll have around 20 varieties - no more than 4 in the greenhouse. Plenty of peppers and chillies though.
Tell me more about rare beans please, they sound quite exciting. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

43 - I just got given 3 more by my chum.
Rare beans - Lablab beans, Hopi Yellow and Gigandes - I grow lots of different varieties and once bulked up, give them away or swap with people who want to grow them themselves. Usually around 40-50 different varieties on the plots and the above 3 indoors to get a decent harvest as they are quite rare and don't particularly like the UK weather. Blog is in my sig on the Vine, for more info on the Bean Project. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0
