Peas will grow and produce pods in a seed tray. So don't worry about that!

Here I am with yet another newbie question :p

After I move my strawbs from the greenhouse I'm going to have a bit of room in there. Just wondering what would be ok to sow at the time of year? Isn't it a bit late? I already have chillies, tomatoes, strawbs, lettuce, potatoes, garlic and carrots so would really like to try something new... Any ideas? :)

Cheers SN, peas are now out, some toms are out and if they survive overnight the rest are going out tomorrow.

Cucumbers are going out tomorrow as well. My porch will be empty. :D

I put some marigolds out beside the carrots & onions so hope they don't quit on me tonight.
Herman - MP for all! :)

Herbs? When you can sow loads you tend to use them as veg not just a sprinkle here and there. I am currently sowing [for the record] beans, runners - dwarf and climbing Frenchies, sweetcorn, parsnips, carrots [you can resow for a later crop], parsley, basil [still eating pesto from last year's], celery [again, for a later crop], flowers, peas [yup, later crop], lettuce [again], beetroot, spring onions. I'm sure I will be doing other things [oh, dill, that's one], and will go through the seed stash and bung in anything I think might make it before October.

Oh - and all the cucurbits - a resowing of cucumbers, courgettes, summer and winter squashes, pumpkins...

Don't forget alot of things just have slowed down so much they are nearly going backward - so now it has actually warmed up a bit, a later sowing of many things will overtake those that have decided to stall.

Thanks! Lots of ideas there, I managed to kill the cucumber plant I had so won't go down that route again :p

I wonder if my strawberries decided to stall, they were growing so quick then just stopped...

I have a very determined local cat, it's pooped on top of an upturned flower bucket

That sounds like fox behaviour. Are you sure it was a cat Annie?
If I'm over the hill, where was the top?

I was wondering where you get your netting from? I'll need something to protect my strawbs from birds etc but all I can find is some in b&q with a horrible review! Don't really want to spend the money on a purpose made tunnel...

You should be able to get netting from any decent garden centre, from a reel, per metre. Just choose the mesh size you want. Nice strawberry. :)
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.
