Do I have to fill it out ?

Over a month ago I bought a higher priced item on eBay [over £100] I've still not recieved it so I opened a case the paypal then eventually escalated it. The seller has been continually rude and abusive towards me by saying this item hasn't arrived.

Today I've recieved a letter from royal mail asking me some details about the item to coroborate their claim for compo I'm assuming. My question is I've escalated it with paypal to which I will get a final decision on the 7th this guy has been a continual tw*t towards me and it looks like he's used a different name on the RM claim.

So my question is do I need to complete the form and send it back ? Will I get into trouble if I don't ?

Thanks in advance !

I wouldn't do anything until I was refunded. The seller doesn't have to wait until paypal tells him to refund, and he's being stubborn. It's ridiculous that he expects you to cooperate when he won't.
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

You are under no obligation to complete the form.

It will have no bearing on your Paypal dispute.

I am in complete agreement with you- if seller won't assist you then I wouldn't lift a finger to help them either.

Seller may get a real shock later if they used standard mail for a £100 item!

Once you've received your refund, you could be totally honest with regards to the RM claim and simply send it back stating that you don't recognise the name of the claimant and that you have never ordered any goods from them.

Well thats the thing normally I would happily fill it in and post it back no problem but he has been so horrible I just cant justify wasting ink on him lol

Apparently he sent it recorded mail [tracking number shows it hasnt been delivered either] which from memory has only £49 compensation ?! He tried to blame me for him sending it recorded and make out thats the amount [if any] he would refund me if it was indeed lost :rotfl:

£46 compensation so yes, a poor judgement.

Personally I would just put the form aside and not mention it at all and just concentrate on getting your justified refund from a seller who really hasn't understood what responsibilites he has..

May not be, I don't know if this is a private or business purchase, but I can send items up to £120 retail but in the event they would be covered as the cost to me is below the £46.

You have no contract with Royal mail.
So no you do not have to fill anything in.

I must be the only one here who would have filled it in! The thought of somebody missing out on compensation from RM because of me would be too much of a guilt trip, even if he had been a bit of a pain in the neck. There is enough nastiness in the world without me adding to it is my train of thought.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
