    Happy Weekend

Am just about to wander up to the Farmers Market for next week's veg and eggs. I am so lucky to have the High Street at the end of our road. LO HM soup for lunch because tonight we are due to go the Burns Night supper in the Church Hall next door. Frankly I would rather curl up on the sofa with my knitting and watch Casualty than eat haggis and listen to bagpipes.:(

Question: How do you get two pipers to play in perfect harmony?
    Answer: Shoot one of them.

Sorry to all Scottish people who might be reading this post.

HH: Good luck with the capsule wardrobe. I think you're wonderful. It has always been my ambition to do that. Sadly my wardrobe is as wildly mixed up as the rest of my life.
Suggest that your DH rings the number to see which Mum answers. If he gets St Peter, it's the wrong one. :D

Good healing to all who are under the weather, and enjoy a rest everyone if you can.

  • My Dad just rung to say he would prefer to fit WM in the week as he is busy today so I have pushed it under the worktop so I have space again in kitchen! I'm away with work Mon til Thurs pm on residential so don't need WM this weekend really. My Dad will come Thurs pm when I'm back and do it then, and I'll have a pile of washing all ready for it :rotfl:.

I've tidied up and done some sorting out of paperwork. Now about to start uni work til lunchtime when my friend is popping over.

    Morning all,
I'm planning on doing a stock take of the freezers and store cupboards and do a meal plan for the next 4 weeks, not planned on doing this until I submitted our Tax Returns last night. DH and I triple checked our figures but it still came out at a rediculous amount, not helped by them making us pay up front towards next years tax, grrrrrhhhh. Oh well as they say, the only 2 certain things in life are death and taxes and I know which I'd rather deal with.
So back to OS, I've some parsnip and stilton soup simmering, stilton LO from Xmas and a few wilting parsnips. Going to get the FP out and mix a batch of pastry to portion and freeze. Cod & HM chips with salad for dinner. Just veg to shop for today, I'll send DH so I'm not tempted to buy woopie bargains.
I really need to catch up on here but for now I'm sending congrats and hugs where needed.
    Have a good weekend. :A

sistercas - make sure your DH takes his time recovering. My work colleague had meningitis and it took a long time to rcover plus it b*ggered up his thyroid afterwards too so he's now on medication for life. Dont be frightened to seek medical advice if he seems poorly. x x x x

    Morning all,
Lazy start to our day, last night we went to the pub for a couple of drinks with some friends near to their house,it has a microbrewery and is very popular, then went back to their house for pastie and peas so we had a really good night. The only trouble was they live a mile down at the end of an unmade very bumpy road, and only 1 taxi firm will go up.I started ringing them at 12.30,and at 2 they still hadnt answered the phone so we had to get DS2 out of bed to pick us up :eek:They did say we could stay the night, but I like my own bed.DS would still have had to come over for us and I reckoned he'd sooner do it last night than early this morning-he wasnt asleep anyway -saved the taxi fare I suppose :D

Beth- this is exactly why we are being frugal, stock taking and meal planning at the moment (and selling the car to pay the bill) I think the system of paying towards next year is really daft, how do they know what kind of year you'll have business wise(pretty poor if the last couple of months are anything to go by ) so I sympathise.DH has got a VAT bill too, which is more than he thought due to something the accountant did last quarter.Anyway its only money(gulp). Some things are much more important, which is why I'm so pleased your biopsy results were clear :j:j

Off to footie later(season tickets so already paid for) then a night in front of the TV again:rotfl:M&SChinese mealdeal for us,didnt get rice as a side dish, thought I'd do my own then it can stretch to DS2 as well.
Really windy here, will need to wrap up for the match.May bob into L1dl for a few bits shortly, need some sandwich stuff, after I've swished and swiped.

(((Sistercas)))-hope hubby gets better soon.DS2 got viral meningitis when he was 19 and was really poorly with it.
    Hugs to poorly people xxx
