BT Broadband Problem.

Hi,
Does anyone have the phone number for the BT complaints department please?
I am having terrible trouble getting a slow BT Broadband line sorted out, it has been going on for over 5 weeks now and 4 engineers so far with another one expected Tuesday.
Speaking to the Indian help desk is a total waste of time as they tell you different things depending on who you speak to.:(

says:" Executive Level Complaints. I got this number by going to the head office as I was unhappy with the way my complaint was dealt with. Use this when you are inevitably at the end of your tether."0 -
Hi,
Thanks very much for the telephone number, that is just what I need.:T
The speed test gives 2.79mbps, way below the 15mbps I should be expecting.
I won't bother you with the details other than to say I am on my 4 or 5th engineering visit and so far down £130 !!

Hi Ian,
Thank you but I know that but in my case it did not as even after 4 engineers there is still noise on the line.:(

If OR agree that you have a noisy line, why have you been charged a £130 call out?No free lunch, and no free laptop

If you have a noisy line, it is NOT a broadband problem. You need to contact whoever provides your telephony and raise a fault that way. If you think about it, you have to have a telephone line before you can have broadband...if that 'aint good the broadband will suffer..0

I'm having the same problems it's slightly better now but we lost a lot of internet over Christmas. We pay for more but only get 3.2mb BT said this is due to being furthest from the phone exchange?
We need to check the contracts over the weekend as I'm wondering if we need to try Sky instead as we have Sky tv and phone. Both neighbours have had Virgin broadband and say how fast it is, but we are happyish with Sky so would not want to swap, can't see Virgin wanting to just install the broadband.
I'm also guilty of not cleaning the computer - and am told our antivirus Eset Nod 32 might be 'arguing' with Malware bytes.
BT the Indian call centre said there are no faults and if we want an engineer its £120 - which we will not be booking.
Last year I think we had that noise and very slow internet and took some arguing but they did send someone out without charge and there was a fault. I'll see if we have any UK numbers when I check the contract.
Hope you manage to get it sorted.Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

If you have noise or any other line fault, switching to Sky will make no difference-you'll still be on the same local loop.
Dial 17070, option 2, quiet line test. If there's noise/crackling, contact your line rental provider and report a line fault-do NOT mention any broadband issues. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Hi,
Yes I quite agree that a noisy line is the cause of the broadband slowing down, so that is indeed a telephony problem not a broadband fault really.
The trouble is that it is all interlinked, I have paid £130 to get the phone master socket moved as BT told me we had faulty telephone wiring in the house and that was the cause of the noise.
After the line was moved the noise came back and 3 engineers later it is apparently still there despite that some engineers say that it isn't but the UK based company that come involved when the problems are not fixed say there is noise.... HELP:eek:
Obviously I have trying to get my speed backup on the broadband because I was under the impression that the noisy line was fixed so it must be a broadband problem....:(
So you see the mess I'm in.....
If the noise hasn't been fixed by moving the home connection then I believe I should be due a £130 refund surely?
What a ******* saga.

Disconnect any extension wiring, plug a corded handset into the master socket test socket behind the split faceplate. If noise is still present then it's upstream of the master socket and BT's problem, not yours (and not chargeable).
What do you mean by 'the UK based company'? The only company that send engineers out to fix lines is BT OR-they maintain the local network, regardless of your own ISP or telcom. No free lunch, and no free laptop

have you had your filters changed?Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
