Just try being on VM, its appalling. If the call goes to voicemail (after 6-7 rings) it doesn't even record the number at all.

Its been free for some considerable time now. But recently BT started charging if you dont make 2 chargeable calls a month through them.
This shouldn't be the case as it states that this service is free and doesn't note any conditions. I shall have to see how it goes but look out if they start charging me for it!0 -

I shall have to see how it goes but look out if they start charging me for it!From 1st October 2006, customers who do not make some chargeable calls with BT will be charged for BT Caller Display. Customers with other call providers can still benefit from BT Call er Display at no extra cost if the following calls are made. Customers who are billed monthly must make at least two chargeable calls with BT in that month, otherwise BT reserves the right to charge £1.75 a month for BT Caller Display. Customers who are billed every three months must make at least six chargeable calls within those three months, otherwise BT reserves the right to charge £5.25 a quarter.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Thought I would post my experience in case it helps others.
Got my BT bill / statement in the post today and saw the charge for BT Caller Display which I shouldn't have been charged as I subscribed to the BT Privacy offer when it came out quite a while ago. It's the first time I'd been charged. The charge was described as an amendment to the previous statement.
Having read this thread, I got out my old bill and it showed that we made enough BT calls in the previous quarter.
Rang 150 and went through to billing queries - they put me on to customer services (so don't waste your time waiting on hold for billing). Man I spoke to asked if this was the first time that this charge had appeared and then said that I would get a credit on the next bill/statement. Seems like it's sorted.
