PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. Please also avoid posting personally identifiable information, including links to your own online property listing which may reveal your address. Thank you for your understanding.
We're aware that some users are experiencing technical issues which the team are working to resolve. See the Community Noticeboard for more info. Thank you for your patience.

Those poor admins must be typing their fingers to the bone. I wonder if there's a way to see this alias re-registering or block their IP address? I'd be having a think about not letting new members start threads for the first week like they can't post links.0

I would be reluctant to stop new posters starting new threads. I imagine that most new posters actually start with a new thread for a question. And then if you do stop them posting new threads, they will just dredge up old ones. And then they will carry on doing it because they won't realise they have gained the right.. Frankly that would be worse than the spam, because once you delete it it is over and done. But you could never untangle a blitz of hijacked threads from people who have genuine input to the site.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I don't know how feasible it is with the software used for these forums but I would have thought an automated process could stop it. If it finds 3 or more posts with the same title by the same poster in a single board then delete the posts and PPR the poster.0

Davey; this is most likely why I am not an admin boffin-type. Can't think ahead and imagine the consequences of my daft solutions. I like Agrinnall's0

- It is not unknown for newbies to press the submit button more than once
- If Spammers get wise, they will just subtly change the title.
