Possibly a hardware issue then
The ony way to find out is to reinstall a fresh copy of windows and see how that goes:idea:0 -

That's what I'm thinking is my only option now, just have to hope I can get the files off it saved to memory stick without it freezing!
Anyway will leave that for tomorrow as I've wasted enough of my weekend on this now and series 3 of Breaking Bad is calling me on Netflix :cool:0 -
Tried doing a fresh install of windows on the problematic notebook this morning, and got so far and got a message saying that no image of windows was available:eek:
How could windows install in the first place when it was new if there's no image present?
Or do I have to create a recovery image?
Anyway on a plus side, I was allowed to cancel recovery and windows booted up again as normal but I didn't get the message about windows this time and so far (fingers crossed) all is running correctly:)
No Freezing:T
Just running an MBam scan to make sure all is well on that side of things.0 -
As soon as I posted my last reply, its frozen again:mad:0

Well the Notebook is back with me:(
All was fine, until update notifications for Java and windows appeared.
The owner just closed these down by the X top right hand corner and continued to use the notebook.
This morning the windows error message is back and its running like a bag of crap again:(
Have updated Java and Windows and since updating and restarting the notebook is failing to boot up!
It get stuck at the Dell logo with a blue bar that fills from left to right which gets stuck half way across and won't go any further!
Also on screen is F2 - Set up and F12 - Boot Options by pressing either of these nothing happens:(
Since starting this post have got past the above dell logo screen and it seems to be booting up:o
Oh no its not, now just have a black screen!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
HELP PLEASE?????
Notebook not booting, just gets stuck on a black screen!
Hard shut down, reboot and press F8 to access boot up in safe mode to be presented on screen with a message about patents and copyright stuff which concludes with a message saying
"Operating system not found"
This is all from downloading and installing windows updates!
What does this mean??0
