MSE should be aware that Primus Bars calls to 18185 from some new lines
Given that cost of calls to mobiles have been reduced, suprised to see Primus Increasing them.

"Calls to UK mobiles are now 16p/min (daytime), 14p/min (evening) and 12p/min (weekend), an average increase of 2p/min."

Primus really are a disaster. This board is littered with stories of how unbelieveably poor they are.

Read the final post in this thread for an illustration:

o2 homephone prices to increase ( think Mar)
Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.
  • Primus charge a wacking £2.50 a month for caller display, and where are there non geographical call prices hidden away.

oldharryrocks, 0845/0870 calls are now 6p/minute at all times + the setup fee, see
    http://www.primussaver.co.uk/pricing-notifications.html
But be aware, at the time of posting they haven't yet updated the pdf files for NGN calls available on the pricing special offers page.

nollag2006, there are plenty of SATISFIED Primus customers. In fact a recent survey shown elsewhere on the site only has 14% unhappy and I suggest you have a look at all the complaints about TalkTalk & BT and others! None of them are perfect., very far from.

Primus doesn't bar 18185. If you take Phone and Broadband from Primus and you are on an LLU'd (market 2 or 3) exchange you could be put on an LLU line as they have LLU agreements with a major provider. LLU providers are not required to allow indirect access codes beginning with 1. It's only lines using BT WLR that are required to provide this. You can still use 18185's 0808 number but there's a per minute charge for all calls billed by 1815 using this, it's still cheaper however.

Thanks for teaching us how to suck eggs.:D

Yes Primus provide,s some customers by a llu service which bars/stops the customer from using the indirect access 18185 short code.

Therefore the promise it made to MSE that it still allows its customers to use indirect access override' calls providers, is misleading, and needs clarifying.

A fair few people have switched to them in the belief they can, only to be disapointed.Hence my post.;)

Do you work for them by any chance ? you seem keen to extol there virtues when many others report appalling customer service.

    Really ? Only 14% - I doubt that !

Here are just some of the horror stories from Primus in the past couple of months from a quic search on MSE:

If you bother to look round, you will find truly awful stories about BT, TT, Virgin, Plusnet, Orange, etc. & etc.

Maybe that's because I've had good customer service so far
NO I DON'T WORK FOR THEM, be careful what you accuse people of on a public forum. I don't disagree that the information given to MSE needs clarifying. That was the point of my post, unlike yours.

Was I teaching you to suck eggs? You should have made it clear in your post that it was LLU lines you were talking about not just referred to "some new lines".
After reading your post, anyone looking for information would be left guessing "would they have access to the 18185 shortcode or not". The purpose of my post was to clarify that.
Perhaps instead of attacking other posters for providing factually correct information and information based on their experience, you could make your future posts more constructive and informative as indeed many of your existing posts seem to be.

Thanks for clarifying you dont work for them,i notice in another thread i was not the only one who thought you might.

So glad you approve of some of my posts.
