Second Purse Challenge 2012

Well I've just done my Mr S online order and was very disappointed to see that I wasn't able to use my points AND £10 off coupons. Went for the £15 worth of points instead as we always use our points for our Xmas shop.
I've used mainly my "free week's" money to pay for the online shop as its mostly stuff I want to batch cook for the freezer in preparation for baby bumps arrival. I divide my monthly GB by 5 but I only shop every 8 days so I get a "free week" or money left over! Also gives a good buffer if i realise i need a high cost item like washing powder and my weekly budget wont quite stretch! This is a tip my mum told me she used to do when I was little to make the money go further.
I've also done my grocery list for my actual SM trip and I'm very happy that about 3/4 of my grocery budget will be paid to SP rather then SM! :T
I shoud have over £50 in SP by this time next week so might start moving over to Third Purse as I really don't think I need the £100 I originally set :jMFW £190,450/£141,1400 -
Afternoon all . Not been about for a couple of weeks as life got in the way!
I have been busy with the 2nd purse, though. I've bought some lovely DR mince and pork chops, fish from an online fish supplier and today have been to Costco. Quite a few bargains including 480 Yorkshire Tea for £5.99, 400g Douwe Egberts coffee for £6.79, 2 x 800g Hellmans mayo for £3.74, 14 chicken drumsticks for £2.74 and I even got some whoopsied Walkers sensations crisps - 3 HUGE bags for 57p!!!
My second purse now stands at a poor £2.74, but I have £304 worth of stock and am paying about 30% of my GB back to ME every week. Now the stock is building, I can see that it won't be too long before my balance in the 2nd purse hangs around a bit longer.
Thanks again to Kerri and Mothership for changing the way I shop.:beer:0 -

Added over £10 to the third purse today
I bought £36.20 worth of items from the second purse which in addition to the Payday deposit of £20 has taken me over the magic £50 threshold0 -
Well I could kiss mothership, I've just been to the dentist and normally I'd be fretting about how I'd pay. But since I started second pursing and not going to the SMs all the time, I still have money leftover so I can afford the dentist without worrying. I know that I can go a few weeks on cupboard food if I need toDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

That's brilliant Kerri - thought you were going to say that you used your 3P to pay for the dentist then, :rotfl::rotfl: So well done you:T:T:T
Just done a quick stock take as haven't done one this month and now my GB owes 2P £85.20 and 3P £120.55 and haven't even done a stock take of the freezer yet:eek::eek:
Hope I am doing this right as that means (under my new regime) that next month's grocery bill will be some £200 down before I've even bought any groceries - will have around £150 left for the month. Not sure if that's a good thing or not? Also when doing stock take there were things in my MunniMart that weren't on spreadsheet, so will have to add those up to. Can't remember what I paid for them now, so will have to guess.
So my 3P will stand at £161.85 once I start my new month on Wednesday next week and stockpile value = £541.10:D
ps just remembered that have to pay my AF bill of £50 odd from 2P, so balance not as good as it originally looksWhen you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying!:rotfl:

I think if I move my money around then I could class the dentist as coming from the 3rd purse. Let me do a stocktakeDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Their small lemon sole is £8.99 a kilo, Smkts charge the same price large or small in the region of £22-25 per kilo. Its delivered by courier next day delivery, delivery is around £10 a bit pricy but if you order only 2 kg the delivery cost and price of fish is equal to SMKTs, so anything above that will travel free , I will be preparing it and freezing it individually. I'm buying this when I get my new freezer (I've decided not to get a new Fridge freezer, the freezer will go into a space occupied presently by a broken fridge, much better use of the space and money

I'm re-organising my freezers, they are a bit mixed up at the moment, I think it would be good to have a beef, pork and lamb, fish/seafood, dairy foods (butter & cheese drawer), one for deserts( we don't have much deserts in the freezer) and a miscellaneous drawer for items I keep small quantities of. The only veg we eat frozen is peas. I will have 10 freezer drawers when the new freezer comes. The good news is I'm only £50 away from what I need to buy it.
I'm so happy with the progress you are all making. I read your posts every day, though I've not had time to post much. I help out DD2 with babysitting on a regular basis, and my beloved step son has been told he has untreatable Cancer and has only weeks to live, so the whole family are devastated. He is only 47 and has a brood of young children, the poor soul.
I got some Organic bitter apricot kernels Vitamin B17, eating two a day can protect against cancer, larger doses can help people fighting the disease. Folk who have diabetes and have had pancreatitis are at greater risk of developing cancer (I'm one of them. ) so I will be taking my two a day from now on. If anyone wants to know more, I will happily post some info.1st Purse £114.19 Monthly GB:rotfl::j:wave::j:rotfl:
