Does anyone know if I can return an item I bought from Peacocks online? Is it protected by the distance selling rules or does that go out the window when the administrators come in?
    thanks

I'm also a fan of peacocks and often get nice things for myself and daughter. There is four peacocks in Fife, our high streets/ shopping centres are half empty these days :(
I love MSE freebies and comps. Thanks posters
  • I am a sales assistant at peacocks, things are very stressfull at the moment, most things written on here are true apart from not getting paid.We are to be paid because if we werent there wouldnt be any staff to keep the shops open, and that is what the administraters need.We are still getting new stock..20% is now being advertised instore..And a big plus is if you have a student card you can get a further 20% off.PLEASE BE NICE TO US SOME STAFF PURCHASED GIFT CARDS FOR FAMILY ETC XMAS TIME SO WE KNOW HOW YOU FEEL.

I was chatting to a friend who's son is a store manager and he hasn't been paid this month and isn't expecting to get paid....and he still goes in to work!

this is simply not true, as a member of store management myself i know that we havent been paid this month as we get paid on the 26th of each month. last months money was paid one week early as it has been in previous years so that collegues have their pay before christmas. we will get paid on the 26th as normal as this is a term of administration as explained by either area managers or representatives of the administation team to all management. everyone i know who works for the company is truly gutted by what has happened. whilst aware of some of the loan issues it has come as a massive shock to those of us who consistantly exceed our budgets and year on year sales. the best thing our customers who love our brand as much as we do can do is to go into your local peacocks stores this weekend and take advantage of the offers avalible. we want possible buyers to see just how much support our stores have and recognise their potential.

whats happening with the bonmarche stores aren't they part of peacocks?
  • I am so gutted, I love the store, and the SA's in there are so lovely, I feel so sorry for them facing this.

I was told today, no exchanges, refunds unless faulty. 20% off full price only. Didn't know about the giftcards though.

Yep this is a total lie as nobody would have been paid yet anyway. Bonmarche is going to be sold off we think with in the next week but the company taking over are going to half the number of stores.

This is not a closing down sale by the way, it's to show buyers what a good company we are and how much money we make, so hopefully this will pay off.:)

However this is a very stressful time for everyone at Peacocks and we never saw it coming:(

I went into Peacocks - I shopped there quite a lot. I got a pair of ballerina style slippers - they were marked down to £4.50 but as I'm an OU student (very mature) and have a student card I got a further 20% off. I feel so sorry for the staff who are so nice :(
    Debt-Free as of 12th September 2017
