I have only ever been to Haven parks but we always get standard vans...
I have always found the vans fine, although they are sometimes a bit dated and sometimes have had rips in the wallpaper in the kids bedrooms.
Last year on all our sun holidays the standard vans had had their carpets replaced with wood effect lino, which makes them easier to clean i guess.
All the standard vans have had microwaves in them, and a basic fully equipt kitchen.
The advise on here is to take a portable fan heater if you are going out of season to warm up the bedrooms, as the vans only have a gas fire in the living room. We have never taken a heater but do take slippers, extra blankets etc.
Which park are you thinking of going to? People might be able to comment on that specific site?

Hi,
Well already sent form off to get a short break for me and my husband. My girls are all grown up now but as you have to pay for four 2 could could come if they want.
1. Looe Bay
2.Sandford
3.Devon cliffs ( been here when girls were little)
4.Littlesea
Thought i would try some places we haven't been to before, apart from 3, but wouldn't mind going to see how it has changed.
As its only for 3 days I thought i would rather spend the extra money on eating out.
Thanks2013

Hi,
1. Looe Bay
2.Sandford
3.Devon cliffs ( been here when girls were little)
4.Littlesea
Thanks
Well Devon Cliffs is a Haven 5 star flagship park and gets fantastic reviews - but some think is a bit too big... I have been and it was fantastic for out needs ie has a great pool to keep the kids busy, and a lovely beach etc.
I have not been to any of the others but i am sure others have and will give you some feedback.
I agree with you about only going for standard accomm - it is not luxury but it does the job, i cook in the caravan and have always had enough space and equipement to cook a proper meal, with 2 small kids i don't mind it being a bit shabby in places as then i am not worrying about the kids scuffing anything.

Looe Bay is lovely, a smallish park but the entertainment from the Parkdean Troupers is great, and the area around Looe is so beautiful. Very slow paced with cobbled streets and a good beach too at the top of Looe's high street - lovely place, I highly recommend it.
My friends went to Sandford and really liked it.
I'm going to Devon Cliffs in June for 5 days, so really looking forward to that, as I have heard it's very good, and rather big which I don't mind.Whoever said 'Money doesn't bring happiness' isn't using it properly.0 -
Todays code in the Bristol Evening post is POOL.
The Breakfree Holidays method is that after getting all the codes you go on the site, register, enter the codes then chose your dates and parks; you will then be shown if you are successful or you then try again; when you get one and you are ready to go ahead then you pay through the website which is a minimum payment of £40 plus a £2.50 booking fee. GOOD LUCK and have a nice time.

Yep Looe Bay is nice - not too noisy or big but the seagulls in the Looe area are ENORMOUS! If you get Looe don't even attempt to park in the town itself - narrow cobbled streets and no way of turning around if everyone's done the same thing- drive over the bridge and off to the right there's a decent car park. People crab off the bridge and further along the harbour towards the sea there are plenty of successful anglers - a cheeky harbour seal (don't suppose we'll see it again!) went along nudging their 'keep' nets to release captured fish so he could nick them!0
