E2Save/mobiles.co.uk
I am thinking about a new contract phone through e2save and wondered if any one has any experiences of using them good or bad? I can also get the phone and same contract through mobiles.co.uk so any thoughts on them would be appreciated, I know they are both clones of Carphone Warehouse.
The airtime contract is with T Mobile. I look forward to reading your thoughts about them both good and bad.
Thanks in advance.

No worries if it is not a redemption (cashback) deal, but don't miss TCB/quidco cashback0

my advice, from personal experience, is to go with e2save,if you're interested in a cashbackdeal. they have improved greatly over the last couple of years and their T&Cs for cashback are more straight-forward in terms of when you make each claim.
mobiles.co.uk have improved but things are a little more 'bumpy' for some people, at the moment, when making a claim. they seem to be 're-organising' some things at the moment, hopefully for the better. however, that seems to have led to delays and confusion....
their T&Cs are a little more complicated and the timings of claiming can be confusing for some. Having said that, you do now get a detailed breakdown of what and when to send things, in your online account.
having used/still using both, i've not had a major problem with either but e2save seem to be more organised and easier to use.
as others will say...make sure you undesrtand the respective T&Cs, of any deal you're interested in, first.
i pass on the baton of experience.....0 -
I agree I have had 3 contracts with e2save and had no problems what so ever.
Good customer service too.0 -
I have to confess I was leaning more towards e2save, they seem to have much better reviews in general than mobiles.co.uk. I will get £30.30 through topcashback for a new contract, so that's not bad, it's the same cashback for both of them. E2save are also offering 7 months free through redemption, payable at 3 monthly intervals over the course of the 18 month contract (6 months on the other one). So assuming that went smoothly and I guess that could be a potential sticking point from some reviews, it would mean only 11 months to pay for out of my pocket less the cashback.
I don't think that's too bad a deal as long as all the cashback comes through. I get the phone I want which is retailing at over £200 on PAYG (£180+ on Ebay/Amazon), the total spend is £224 over 18 months after all the cashback and all my minutes/texts/data are covered for the full 18 months! I don't use as much on PAYG as I'll get with the contract, so shouldn't go over and incur more charges and because of that it gives me the flexibility of a cushion on my usage and no more topping up!0 -
try dialaphone as well0

You're all out of date as usual. E2Save currently are in a mess as well. Watch your back VERY closely and follow ALL the groundrules if use use EITHER of them at present.0

No, we're not 'out of date', we just have not encountered ANY problems with E2Save. It's what the OP asked for - people's EXPERIENCES. Sorry, got the 'I need to stress the words I want people to understand by using capitals' bug, there...
Interesting, the number of problems YOU seem to keep encountering, with just about any company under the sun.
Maybe the doctor should be taking his own, prescribed, medicine?0 -
mobilejunkie, can you tell me who you would advise using if e2save/mobiles.co.uk are not recommended? As a newbie to the world of contract phones it is difficult to know who is the best of a bad bunch, as they all seem to have negative reviews. Any advice would be appreciated.0

Unfortunately, at present there is no straightforward and entirely safe bet. CPW in their various guises are still the largest and therefore safest - but they definitely are NOT now sticking to their t&c so you have to keep a VERY close eye on the ball. I am doing that with all the people I look after and (ironically) the biggest problems at present appear to be with my own (numerous) contracts. In addition, the deals are far less attractive than they were a month or so ago.
Peoples' experiences are generally based on what happened months or even years ago; cashback contracts change suddenly and drastically and you have to be ready for and aligned to that. I enjoy the game and am currently using the confusion to my advantage sometimes - but the need to sue is becomming increasingly probable at present.0 -
So if I go for a contract through e2save as I understand it:
1. I am entering into a contract with e2save who supply the handset and provide the cashback through redemption. As long as I submit the correct monthly bill (from the airtime supplier - T Mobile) at the correct times, they will send me the cashback as set out in the contract.
2. I am also entering a contract with the network - T Mobile who will bill me each month for the duration of the contract.
3. The T&C's I and they are bound by are those at the time of purchase/contract opening. I should download and save these as well as any supplied by them.
Am I correct in this and if they change the T&C's am I correct in thinking they are in breach of contract? If I conform the T&C's in relation to the cashback then surely they have to pay it and if they do not then I would assume that again they were in breach of the contract, which would leave them open for legal action?
What a minefield this is begining to look like, I thought it would be straight forward but am now starting to wonder if it is worth it, or if it might be better to go direct to the network operator, or are they just as bad?0
