I love their mamia baby shampoo - its the only one I can use regularly without my very fine hair becoming dry and flyaway. I recommend it to anyone who has a sensitive scalp too.

For any blackcurrant / Ribena fans, I highly recommend Aldi's Blackcurrant High Juice for about £1.10 a bottle.

I like Ribena but I do find it too sugary and sweet, like it's made for 5 year olds so have been sampling loads of different blackcurrants from all the supermarkets but not finding anything I particularly liked.

Was about to give up and stick to Orange Barley (the 79p Aldi one is fruitier tasting than Robinsons and half the price - ditto for the one in Lidl) when I came across this in Aldi last week.

It tastes almost identical to Ribena but slightly fruitier and less sugary. It's a beautiful fresh, clean-tasting Blackcurrant, my favourite by far. I'm going back to get another half-dozen bottles. Good old Aldi!

I buy Ribena as it's usually on offer somewhere but I'm always on the hunt for soft drinks that don't taste too sweet to replace fruit juice. Is the Aldi one No Added Sugar?

It is indeed - and you'll find that it has more than twice the juice content of Ribena.

Staggering, really, that so many people buy Ribena when it's such an inferior product by comparison with the much cheaper Aldi and Lidl versions. Ribena really is a pretty rubbishy product once you look at the label.

Yet it is a household name. I don't get this lust for sugary drinks.

Syrupy cakes, yes - but drinks?

unfortunately this is one area where Aldi lets us down as only the 'full fat' cordial is the Apple High juice. The no added sugar ones are full of synthetic sweeteners.

Tried the Aldi Torchon Ham for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely delicious, and possibly more palatable for British tastes than the excellent German hams.

For anyone who thinks that Aldi/Lidl are short of choice, this is one area where they most certainly are not. I haven't counted them, but there must be at least 50 varieties of Cold Meats and Pates in Aldi.
