Good and bad buys from Aldi and Lidl

Anyone else finding that Aldi stores are becoming impossible to get round in the morning with a trolley because of all the cartons piled up all over the shop, blocking the aisles and access to the shelves?
There were 2 pallets blocking an aisle yesterday in mine, meaning we all had to back up our trolleys and find another route around. :wall:Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Spent my voucher on Thursday, the shop was packed. And just say managed to spend £45. Told me friend about voucher in DM now have to tell her every month. She then told her friend now she is going to get paper on voucher day.

Just popped in earlier, after brunch with a friend. Bought exactly what I wanted, fruit, veg and the weed wand plus canister. Can't wait to set to my driveway
Shop was packed with middle class folk. There was no way I could spend anywhere near £45 instore!Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

gosh, that's easy for me, 2 boxes of wine @ a bit over £ 18 each plus veg and other bits - gone. I wish they'd put vouchers in a paper I more regularly read though.....:pFirst they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -
I missed out on the DM voucher this week - the corner shop had sold out early. Still got what I wanted with my Aldi shop but with no extras needed to push the bill up to £45, I actually spent a lot less - £32.
We went shopping in the early evening so as to be sure of a space. 95% of what I wanted was still in stock.
Re the aisles. The Aldi staff do go in really early to get the stock out, I guess they are victims of their own success in part as stock goes so quickly and has to be replaced whilst the store is open.
Back on topic. I saw a positive comment about the Sugar Puffs type cereal, so I gave in to my inner child. They are indeed just like the far more expensive product.
Looking through the toiletries I own, a sizeable proportion are now Aldi products. They have brought out a new shampoo and conditioner as copies of the L'Oreal Triple Resist.
It's easy to spot it, in the identically coloured black and pink packaging, (all of the Aldi hair product copies have similar designs to the originals.) I've tried the conditioner and it's really good, far more than you would expect for 99p (250 ml)Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I could easily spend that plus more on just meat, fish, deli/dairy counter, fruit and veg. Oh and the odd bottle of wine
I had the opportunity to try a different and much larger Aldi store whilst I was away. I went during the day and it was relatively busy but still managed to find exactly what I needed (plus a few extras I've not seen in the store I use). Checkout experience was good despite being busy and I didn't feel stressed or rushed despite being on my own.
The car park had one of those cameras people have mentioned but allowed 90mins free parking. I can't see why anyone would need more than that to be honest. I was in and out within 20mins and I had a good wander around the store.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Our Aldi car park is at the edge of a pedestrian shopping precinct and I strongly suspect that many of the people parking in it don't actually go in Aldi. It only seems to have spaces after 6pm.
There are regular complaints in the local press from people who somehow manage to miss reading the massive signs that inform customers they have a 90 minute limit and are fined as a result.
The signs are in the car park and in the store, but those not using the store won't see the latter. Hmm.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... OK an odd but good buy from Aldi. Their Bramwells English mustard is my favourite of this type with lots of heat and no sourness. Odd? Because it's made in Germany, but better (to me at least) than other supermarket own brands such as Tesco and Sainos.
The Aldi Bramwells ketchup has also become the standard ketchup in my home.Hoping this year is better than the last.0 -

I also buy either A's or L's ketchup but I use it more as a cooking ingredient than a condiment so I don't mind that much that it tends to separate when it stands for a while. Both do need a good shake before each use but the taste can well match up to the expensive brands.First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0
