Did you get the 75p 1kg bag of oats? I already use them and they are much more creamier than the equivalent basics/value range from the large supermarkets which are around the same price.Hoping this year is better than the last.0 -
I tried those cheaper than cheap porridge oats and YUK. Too fine. They make a bowl of mush similar to Ready Brek. I much prefer Scott's (large flakes).

yes, I did. It's my daughter who has porridge every morning and I will let you know what she thinks of it. As Aldi is not local for us we usually either have T's value or Lidl's .First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -

Hmm, not sure we are talking about the same thing, because I hate Ready Brek. That is baby mush IMO.
The 75p bag of oats from Aldi are cut, but nothing like Ready Brek, they have some coarseness, though I agree Scott's are larger flakes of rolled oats.

Same thing, I promise. I think they're rubbish even for flapjacks!******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0 -
Dang me, the corner shop had sold out of Daily Mirrors by mid-day. That's never happened before.
Nickyhutch:
Just season and roast the quail as you would a poussin (little chicken). If you have a recipe that uses poussin you could easily use the quail instead. I liked them, my son found them fussy and fiddly to eat. They only take half an hour in a fan oven.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -

Thank you. They're so tiny I might need all 4 all to myself!******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0 -

Delighted to see my Aldi had some ginger wine in stock yesterday, usually a Christmas special. I really enjoy it at about £3.50 a bottle IIRC.0 -
Anyone else finding that Aldi stores are becoming impossible to get round in the morning with a trolley because of all the cartons piled up all over the shop, blocking the aisles and access to the shelves?
Hardly the fault of the staff - they all work very hard - but the restocking system seems to be badly flawed if the stores are in this state when shoppers are trying to get round the store.
That, plus the ever-worsening parking problem, is starting to tempt me away to Lidl. No such problems there, though by preference I'd always go for Aldi. There are limits to what I'll put up with there, though.0 -
yes, Lidl is brighter, tidyer and spacier but should we get the Aldi in town the Community Council and Council are currently arguing about I will still go to both for different things.First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0
