Well man from BG finally came today and did as I expected - banged a few things then said we needed new parts that he wouldn't have till Tues afternoon  It's blinking freezing!!!

OH has just flown off on business for a week and I have such wonderful neighbours/friends one family has just fed me and DS and looked after us for the afternoon and another has donated a couple or electric heaters.

Looking at a cold night so will have to fly lots tomorrow to get warm.

    Best wishes. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr...

  • Hello everyone. I feel I can post on here after making a very successful cherry cake this morning, made with the free cherries I piked in the summer. Hello to all who were at the meet in London last Saturday. i enjoyed it. I haven't had a great week things kept breaking. The digi box, the computer and worst of all the washing machine. They are now all fixed thanks to handy men in family but I am trying to get through an enormous backlog of washing. Quite a lot of mine is also on the 2 lines not drying but out of the way. More is draped over more things than you can imagine. I found my sons school shirts an hour ago at the bottom of a wet pile and moved stuff to get them on the radiator. You can see how out of hand it has got as they have been off school for 11 days!! I also made a roast today., and spent the rest of the day cleaning absent 13 yo room while she was gone for the weekend. I figured it would take less energy than the constant nagging and get a better result. Oh and I have been for an 8 mile bike ride, my longest yet. I am cycling on doctors orders to help my painful knee. The knee isn't any better but I have lost about a stone in the month I have been cycling so will be keeping it up. It means I can scoff the cherry cake and go and work it off tomorrow. Well I must go and iron so everyone can go to work/ school respectable tomorrow. Bye for now.

Thanks for the advice about washing powder. I'll go and get some tomorrow and with any luck the itching will stop. It got a lot worse when I swapped to the tesco's own brand of powder which probably wasn't very clever but I was desperate to save money. Never again!

The only wash powder I can use is the tesco value one.. no perfumes, fewer optical brighteners. their non-value one is full of junk!

The ecover one was awful for us.. not to mention extremely expensive!! We can't use any of the non-bi's either, they are all full of perfume.

Pigpen I am sure the headaches will disappear once you get your glasses (well as much as they can with 8 kids and a hubbie into DIY).

Well I had a lovely afternoon, we watched Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - was amazed 2 1/2 year old actually sat and watched the whole thing!

I cooked roast pork while it was on so dinner was ready when it finished. We then all sat and did colouring in, it was a really nice day.

Littles now in bed, house looks a bit untidy so not sure whether to have a quick pick up and put away or do tomorrow. Think i will grab a cookies and think about it a bit more - lol.
  • need to:
    • [STRIKE]make sweet potato puree for baby[/STRIKE]also did apple and cinammon, which smelt delicious
    • [STRIKE]wash bibs[/STRIKE]
    • wash some of my tops - feeding baby proper stuff is a lot more messy!
    • [STRIKE]get chicken stock[/STRIKE] and chicken out of freezer and leave to defrost in fridge for tomorrow
    • [STRIKE]buy my car tax online[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]wash my hair[/STRIKE] and have a face mask session
    • [STRIKE]make a fish pie for tea[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]do some of the dreaded ironing[/STRIKE] (or at least admit that i don't want to do it, and put the stuff away without ironing)about an hours worth of clothes sorting, which was about 2/3rds of the pile. I may do some more as there is nowt on the telly, or i may chill out.
DH is just making me some bananas and custard, so i willindulge, and then make sure the kitchen is tidy for tomorrow.

    will see you all tomorrow
