• Hi all,

I just wanted to help anyone who may be thinking of buying Timberland boots on ebay at the moment...
I work for Timberland and we have been inundated with LOTS of fakes from eBay, particularly in the last 7 days, obviously people have bought these with the best of intentions and have been badly ripped off.
If there is anyone thinking of buying Timberland boots from eBay and you aren't sure if they are genuine, please drop me a PM and I can give you a few hints on what to look for/questions to ask the seller.

DM x

NB Sorry! but I can't help you get cheap or wholesale Timberland boots/shoes, so please don't ask!
Very interest, I send you a Pm.:rotfl:

I purchased a pair of cheap timberland boots from www.timberlandbootsale.co.uk the boots arrived after about 5 weeks from China, delivered in a badly damaged poor quality box - they were the wrong style, poor quality (obvious fakes) they were even the wrong size. When I placed the order with www.timberlandbootsale.co.uk there were loads in stock but as soon as AUTHENTIC-FOOTWEAR.EU took my money the stock level immediately dropped to zero, after about ten e-mails to the so called support site http://www.billingsupportsystem.com they said it would now take much longer than the one week they originally stated on www.timberlandbootsale.co.uk website and you can probably imagine there is no way that a delivery from china would arrive in a week anyway! After receiving the horrible, incorrect, poor quality, wrong sized fake boots from www.timberlandbootsale.co.uk and contacting http://www.billingsupportsystem.com and www.timberlandbootsale.co.uk they said they would resolve the problem, this was many weeks ago and as you guessed it…no refund or replacement was offered. If you are interested in cheap boots do your homework (unlike me) and only buy from a site that has someone you can talk to and remember to check the location of the website…just because it’s a .co.uk doesn’t mean its in the UK. I have lost my money but hopefully this will stop someone else from making the same mistake.

^^ what was the name of the website again??
• If you wear genuine gear then you would be able to tell alot of fakes from the pictures and description
If you are going to buy a pair of Timberland boots, start by knowing what tags should be inside and for pictures of these.

But as a lot of items as listed using the manufacturers descriptions and photo's, what someone is thinking of buying may look 100% genuine in the advert, but may be anything but.

Even if a seller uses their own photographs, what they show may not be what you eventually end up with.

how can you tell if converse trainers are real or fake?

With incredibly difficulty. We were in Egypt before Christmas where fakes are rife, we knew that at £10 a pair they were fakes. The kids bought some each and side by side with their genuine pairs I'd challenge anyone to know.

They came in Converse boxes with all the tags, the soles are identical, the logos identical, the insoles identical.

My advise for buying Converse based on the above is buy them from a High Street Retailer if you want to be 100% certain of their authenticity.

Its not just Ebay that gets flooded with fake goods, market stalls can be just as flooded.

If I want a genuine branded item, I generally opt to buy direct from the wholesaler or company, I tend not to trust Ebay for genuine goods, its the only way I can ensure and trust the item I get is authentic.
