  • I wouldn't bother. I thought about it but after reading the FON forums I decided against it. Their firmware seems to be flaky and you can't use it securely for your own network i.e. you can't securely access your own files on other computers on your network etc. If you've only got one machine running then it's maybe not so bad but for the sake of paying £30 more or whatever you can get a proper wireless modem/router off eBay or PC World often have good offers on.
  • got mine today, going to set it up tonight.... i live in the sticks at the top of scotland so the chances of someone using it is nil..... you never know...

what i want to know is if i attach it to my stand alone pc... i take it i can access the internet with my wireless laptop ..... yes?

never used the wireless laptop as a wireless laptop yet woo hoo i can ly in bed and go on the internet!

will some one please tell me if i have got this right?? thank you

    Looks like all gone!

Doraexplorer: you need to attach it to your modem or router. Will only work with cable modems NTL, Telewest so if you're with the likes of BT, AOL, Tiscali, etc ...anyone with their broadband coming from a BT line it won't work. How long do these take to arrive?

  • it took about 2 weeks to arrive and the tst man said it came from spain!

i dont have a router or a bit/space on my modem to connect it anyhow so think its no good for me to use it. i thought i could have put it in where i put the network cable which i have used for my laptop before. but i dont think i can. i am confused now ..........
