Free FON wifi router (+ free access at fonspots worldwide)

i got the fon router but i need an ethernet modem, mine is a usb one. does anyone know where i can get a cheap ethernet one. i have been looking around and they seem quite expensive

I received 1 of these fon router thingies, basically i have no idea how to use it, i thought i could connect the pc upstairs to my internet but i was wrong, so its free to any 1 who wants it, its only been opened and not even taken outta the box.

If you are going to have to buy something, you are probably better off buying a wireless router rather than a modem with an ethernet which you will connect to your fon as they both cost around the same. May as well get a combined one which will work better and hopefully be easier to configure than 2 different devices. Try ebuyer, they had some cheap wireless kit when I checked the other day. My fon worked really badly, so much so that as documented above, I wiped the software which is against the spirit of fon but was the only way to get it to work. It now works flawlessly, almost 4 days uptime and zero drop outs!

Hack it and put DD-WRT on it, it gives you a whole lot more features.
you can do so much more, you can even set up client side access, I hacked my friends fonera, we used it to connect an xbox to his computer via wireless lan. (he already gave away his invite)
