Can't comment on quality as it's subjective, but you cannot make general conclusions about reliability based on comparing just two random phones. Do you have any statistical data proving this?
That said, any statistics would be unreliable as it would be unlikely to include many faulty phones that Apple just swap to refurbs under warranty.
How is it simpler? Would you just buy another SGS 2?
The only difference is that you have bought your handset outright while the OP will keep paying for it monthly even after it is lost/broken.
simple
I made a direct purchase of a handset as a consumer item
I have a contract that isnt connected to any handset0 -
Yes, it is simple, but I don't see how it is simpler.0

Your airtime contract is with a network.
Your supply of the handset contract is with a retailer.
Even for contract phones the network and the retailer can be different - the same as for sim-free & sim-only.
In some cases network=retailer, but again I don't see how this complicates anything.0 -
I got my galaxy s2 in May last year within 7 days the battery overheated and cooked the phone, the phone shop did replace it with a brand new one.
A few months later, it started overheating and would stop working for a few mins sometimes longer, then I dropped it and the screen cracked, (I know that was my fault), I have insurance so sent it off, have had it back about 3 months now and am finding that the battery does'nt seem to last 5 mins, and the hand set actually seems to heat up in one corner, I did buy another battery to try that out but the same is still happening then about two weeks ago, it just died on me, cant turn it on at all, I know it is not the battery as my son has the same phone so he tried the battery in his.
Think I have been so unlucky as my son has had no problems with his at all
Why dont they come with a years guarantee
I had a HTC before and think I will go back to that
Going to send it off again then sell it :j0 -
I have both samsung galaxy S i9000 the first one and iphone 4
Iv never owned apple products before but the build of the iphone feels better compared to the samsung which feels very plasticy.
Also the iphone has much more apps than android this may change in the future as android is newer to the market than apple and apple phone users tend to pay for there apps more than android users again this may change as android is predicted to take 60% of the market. Also iphone 4s seem to hold there value more on ebay if you ever get fed up with phone after a while.0 -
