i think the Galaxy S2 is a pretty good phone, here's some deals on it:

for the iphone 4:

to be honest, the S2 is cheaper per month, have a look at this article comparring both phones

It really depends on what your going to use it for... I have an Iphone 4 and am a big fan of apple products but the contracts are high. However the compatibility with itunes is worth it for me and all the apps really make a difference. At the end of the day its up to you but the iphone 4 is good enough for me.0

If you prefer simplicity of use, choose iphone. If you are like me that has used windows phones for more than 10yrs before making a regrettable mistake of joining the Iphone bandwagon (the many 'little conveniences' I was used to do not exist and I felt controlled through this phone by someone else), choose freedom - android or nokia/windows. Besides, you will not need to sign for more expensive tarriffs.:jDON'T STEAL!!! Government HATES competition!:D Pay your tax and make voluntary contributions to the government! :A:T0

so its 1ghz single core CPU is faster than the 1.2 ghz dual core in the Evo 3d, with twice the Ram of the iphone?
1. the I thought the iphone 4 was underclocked way down to 800MHz?
and
2. you know full well it could be, what the OS is built and optimised for, one platform for apps, ect. ect. determines so much in performance stakes
the 1.2GHz dual core Exynos (SGS2) is a faster CPU clock for clock than the dual core 1.5GHz Snapdragons in a lot of other android phones, but on your logic it couldn't be?
what about old dual/quad core intel CPUs are they faster than the latest dual/quad core sandy bridges?
how can a chromebook that runs on the exact same hardware as a windows 7 netbook boot and load webpages faster, shouldn't they be the same?
fact is, you can never ever judge a CPU and how it will perform on raw clock speed alone, and that is even more true if their is a difference in OS,
anyone can tell you that.0 -

my logic? I think you missed the question mark on the end0 -
Please think carefully before choosing the Galaxy S2, I made the mistake of getting that phone in June and it is the worst phone I have ever had, and I'm stuck in contract with it for another almost 18 months.
My phones battery barely lasts a few hours even with all energy saving practices in place, it overheats and regularly gets to 49 degrees even when not in use. Programs constantly crash on it and I have to force close. I have to restart the phone several times a day as it drops signal or audio randomly. I restore it to factory defaults every week or two yet still have all the same software issues.
It has been for repair twice and lots of parts replaced however I'm told Samsung rarely swap for a new phone and always choose the repair instead.
As it's a phone contract there seems to be a grey area around SOGA and faulty goods so I'm stuck with a phone I can barely use. i have since found out about several other people who have the same issues and if you google it you will find thousands of similar reports.
ETA: I had the iPhone 3g before this but couldn't afford the tariff on a 4 and it was just before the 4s was released. The biggest mistake I have made is giving up an iPhone and going to Android instead....It doesn't even come close in terms of quality and reliability. I wish I paid an extra £5 a month for one now.0 -
I try to be sim free TBH
makes it simpler
whats your supplier saying about this?0 -

That said, any statistics would be unreliable as it would be unlikely to include many faulty phones that Apple just swap to refurbs under warranty.I try to be sim free TBH

The only difference is that you have bought your handset outright while the OP will keep paying for it monthly even after it is lost/broken.0
