we got our stove from wantastove.co.uk they were the cheapest around, and delivered iot really quickly, we purchased a hunter slimline 5 which we had installed by a local guy, we looked at the burley hollywell which has excellent reviews, they do them too, but decided on the slimline 5 due to depth restraints and not wanting to change our hearth to get the 300mm front clearance, hetas need this to sign off.

It's not up to HETAS to sign it off. That's done by the local council's building inspector. HETAS are just (wrongly, in my view) allowed to sign off their own work when one of their members does the installation.

    Shar46y -

We too were looking at the fireline, but found a different stove that we fell in love with instantly! It's the Dartmoor W5 by Dean Forge. Only certain show rooms have them, but as soon as we saw it we knew it was the one. It's made in the UK too which appealed to us.

Not sure I can upload pics from my mobile on here, but have a look for it, we've yet to have it installed as they couldn't fit us in until the middle of this month, can't wait to have it going in the winter though.

I'm sure it will be worth all the money we have spent having the fireplace done etc!

Managed to get the link to take you to the pic if it works - but can't get it to show in the post! Silly thing.

  • Hi - new to this but about to embark on a Burley Brampton woodburning stove. I cant get any idea from anywhere whether it gets hot enough on the top to heat kettle/warm food. Husband says it wont because of the convection heat pipes at the top. Has anyone got any experience of it please?

I regularly cook on top of my Burley Hollywell, it's your 5kw brother!

It takes some time it's like using your low setting on your hob. Jacket potatoes in a metal tin placed on top, take a long time but, it's worth it, must be served with proper salted butter.
  • Agree the HOLLYWELL was excellent in reviews and they gave us a cracking price too but was to high and to deep

Should have put in previous post to be signed off by HETAS engineer my bad slapped hand

we have two - a parkray that cost twice as much and this one - and we love this one!

We too cook on it, it stays in all night (and most of the next day) - something I've never managed with the Parkray. It is wonderfully easy to clean by comparison.

It's a workhorse rather than a an ornament, but for effectiveness it wins hands down.
  • We had a pioneer stove i think made by clearview and have just bought a new house. They were a bit out of our price range so we bought a Vesta V6 stove. We were very suprised as they are a little known stove and we only found them by chance on Ebay.

It has been a great stove with a huge glass window and seems to burn very efficient. It cost us around £600.00 direct from the factory in lancashire.

They are really well built and the company only sell direct so the prices are a lot lower than buying a stove from a retailer.

We cant really say enough good about this stove and the makers of them they were so helpful.

We would never go back to the old pioneer now

    :T
  • We bought a Vesta V6 off ebay too. Great stove with a huge glass window. Not so traditional but not too modern either. we love it! They are very well built and 83% efficient they say as all as I can say is there is hardly any ash so they must be burning everything we put in.

we collected ours from the lancashire factory saving the £45 carriage and we are glad we did as we had chance to watch the stoves being built by a great bunch of lads.

    Cant recommend them enough!
