  • Hi,
It would be really good if they approached the people on their customer base who couldn't actually manage to get the deal last time. I am sure there are many of us. It wasn't straightforward last time, maybe they have got their act together a bit more. We will see. Regards- sally

Just as a pure coincidence, I was travelling over Christmas and was chatting to a girl from London. Her mum designed the interior of the Hoxton (as I was forunate enough to get a £1 room and was telling her about it) and the daughter got friendly with one of the workers there................ the guy responsible for bookings over the website !

They were not expecting the overwhelming response in November and didn't have the IT structure in place to cope with all the hits (obviously, since a lot of MSE'ers had problems) and unfortunately, it hasn't been upgraded since November.

So the moral of this little story is that don't expect top results on Wednesday - the IT to cope with thousands of requests is not there.

Could I book one night and OH book the next night?

Think you can book multiple nights if needed, unless someone else can correct me?
too young to hold on, too old just to break free and run
  • Nope - on the T's and C's it says (well it did last time) that it is one night/one room per booking - I did actually manage to book 2 nights on the last offer but hadn't read the conditions beforehand, so gave up one of the rooms before they found out, cos if they do find out then they are within their rights to cancel your WHOLE booking, so be warned! I didn't wanna take the chance of losing it all!

Looking forward to my night there in March though - it looks fab!

BTW it made no diff whether you were logged in or not - I was logged in but still had to keep re-entering my C/C number and details every time the date I chose was gone - finger ache big style!

Good Luck to those who try this time!

But try not to have a cow if you don't get a room for £1 - you win some, you lose some - there's always good ol' Travelodge, which I always go for - beds are mega comfy IMO! ;)

Rooms are coming up at £59 at the moment, which I think is a good price for London.

I can understand you feeling this way, customer loyalty and the like but I guess this offer is to generate new customers.
  • I logged in to see what would happen and it will only save typing in your address- but might be worth it. I guess you could begin to book a room then not carry it thropugh fully to get registered? Anyway, I wished last time that I had given up on the £1 rooms earlier, as it was quite easy to get £29 rooms but by the time I got to accepting that was the best I was likely to get lots of the weekends I wanted had gone.
£29 is very good for a night in London in a nice hotel for two- not quite travelodge £15 but still good and perhaps a little more upmarket? Not that I'm dssing travelodge as I love it.
I think the key is preparation and planning as to which nights you want to go for and whether you want to gamble on thw £1 rooms while losing the chance at the £29 ones.
