Hello all
Well the school gossip has been confirmed, there is to be a period of consultation about changing to an academy. Not sure how to feel about this as there are lots of stories from other schools who are now academies about staff being made redundent and other staff having to re-apply for their jobs. It worries me that it all seems to be about the money and getting good grades, what about their staff and their student's well being? We'll just have to wait and see.
We're going out for a meal tonight so no cooking. OS wise, shamefully very little.
Hope everyone has a good evening

Afternoon all,
Just waiting for tea to cook, pasta bake for us ,DS2 will have his left over Thai curry from yesterday.
I am a bit :mad: &:(:( as the viewers from Sat have been back this afternoon for a second viewing and made an offer that Dh is fuming about.Apparently their EA looked at our house online and said it was overpriced. How she can tell that I don't know because the pics dont show all the rooms. Our EA is mad too.Bottom line is he wants it but can't afford it,and he isnt going to get what he wants round here for what he wants to pay( needs parking for 3 big vans and several cars too). He's now saying its not really the area he wants either.OK fair enough-but why come looking(and making me spend ages cleaning and tidying .Sorry for the rant, but getting seriously brassed off with it all now and feel like taking it off the market.
Not much fruit cake left again:rotfl:
Sunflower-I am trying to be more organised with my supplies and have been using stuff up from the freezer and cupboards.
I did a stock take, and then planned a few weeks meals around what I've got in-Ive got a big chest freezer that was full to the top,and packs and packs of bread flour that I've been ploughing through.I did get some more yesterday as our L!dl had it down to 59p and I only had a couple left :rotfl:think my stocks are my security blanket.DH & DS are in the construction industry and its very quiet for them at the mo-self employed-so no money coming in,but at least I know we have food for a few weeks, when hopefully the weather is better and more work will come in.
Going to do absolutely nothing tonight ( or tomorrow!) Midsomer for me I think.Hope you have a good evening xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -

Evening all, got up late this morning so didn't manage to post before I went to work. My dear Mum is still much the same, they are giving her a bit of morphine for her pain but nothing else.Finding it hard to concentrate on anything as I just keep thinking about her.
Had a good day at school the children are lovely but am getting thoroughly fed up with the Government and Ofsted changing the goalposts all the time.I could retire next year on my teaching pension but won't get old age pension until 2016. As DH is still out of work it's not really an option, will just have to get on with it:eek:
Lamb and butter bean stew with green beans for tea, DH has cooked it so I'll just have to wash the pans that don't go in the DW. Must try to do some knitting tonight.
Hope everyone has had a good day, enjoy your evening. Hugs to all those who need them.
PS:How do people put those extra bits on their posts like sayings etc?£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund
Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.

Sorry BB but that did make me chuckle!
Evening All
Not much to report here, being quite good not throwing any food out (the soup was interesting this week!). Just got some chicken to use out of the fridge and then it's back to using the freezer food.
Washing and housework generally up to date. Have just changed phone contracts so mine is now half the price it was and DD is now paying her own so an overall saving of £35 per month. Off to country dancing tonight to try to keep warm! Take care. XX0 -
I watched Call the Midwife yest on I player, and loved it, but can't stand Miranda Hart...
I'm the same, I'm 10 minutes into it at the moment, loving it so far, but just waiting for her to pop up.sunflower76 wrote: ».... I noticed yesterday we had no pasta but we have a ton of bread flour and stock piles of vaious other items so I realised that I need to shop more wisely. I'm torn between visiting the big Asian supermarket now, when I only need a few things, or buying what I need from MrT for now and going to the big one in a few weeks....
Have you tried making pasta yourself with some of your bread flour?sunflower76 wrote: ».... I'm a little worried about SIL with a two week old baby. We've always spoken / texted / met up on a really regular basis (some contact every day) and this has almost stopped. Now I do appreciate how busy and tired she is....
Perhaps baby is not sleeping so well, or is feeding very often so SiL is not able to rest? Maybe ask if you can have a cuddle of the baby on the sofa while she gets on with waxing her legs or having a long hot bath on her own? It was those little things that help one feel more human that I had no energy for and my then husband was neither use nor ornament!0 -
Nice day today took DD to dentist then we came home and just sat and jawed for an hour then picked the boys up from school and went back to her house for coffee and HM victoria sponge which she had made this morning .delicious and very naughty as she has used fresh double cream in the middle .
I sewed the boys school trousers up .two of her lads seem to split the crutches of their trouser regularly and I am forever sewing the blessed things up.Either that or there just not made as well as they used to be(more likely)
Just got home and going to have a light supper and feet up and a bit of knitting and t.v. watching I think.DGS Jack has an early day from school tomorrow(2.00.p.m. finish) and I promised him I would make him some shortbread so when he arrives at my house he can tuck into it.
Hope everyone has had a good day, damp and drizzly here in Kent but not cold
Cheers chums
