  • Sounds like a plan to make some room. I have been assessing the owing amounts on my loan and it seems although less than the credit card paying the loan off saves me nearly 200 a month. Do any of your loans equate to the amount offered? And will they save you more than paying a credit card. I know people recommend paying highest intrest but sometimes it's what makes the numbers looser on the soa xx

Congrats on what you've done so far, keep it up and it will get easier to reduce your outgoings when you start to see the difference. It really does become addictive.

Thanks guys I don't know if I should do a diary on here as this is getting long, but I'll just say this and also have one last question.

So the hubby and I went to aldi today and we spent £55 so curious was I to see what we may have spent had we gone to my local store today, so I've just totalled it up and big shock £108.49...... WHAT

Before I found this out on the way home I asked my husband what he thought about our shopping experience, he said it was alright but didn't think it was much cheaper tbh, I've just told him how much we would have spent he gave me a little smile as if to say ok maybe it was different....

Ok my question is insurances, if we find a better rate do we have to wait till the renewal time or can we cancel our dd now and go elsewhere?

    Big thanks to all. Xxx
  • Good day, i assume there are penalties with renewing before the date like a get out clause as you have committed to 12 months with them etc i suppose you can ring and ask regardinng cancellation ?, diarys are pages long but its also good sometimes for own piece of mind to come on here and post and vent, great saving at aldi well done it really does make all the difference, imagine 4 weeks at that sort of saving thats your monthly deficit gone :) x

Well I wanted to check out all these places so I could see what they had and what I may have to go local for, so I think I have spent £130 but I know we have so much now I can't see us needing to go for anything and have promised to shop online for other things we need that we can't get in Aldi, lidl etc... We do need to focus on our meal plan, but we've come so far I just hope we haven't messed up so bad that it's too late.
  • I think it would be great for you to keep doing your diary on here - no matter what the length. It will help you keep focused and if you go off track you have the rest of us to help you get back on the right one! I want to celebrate with you when you're debt free!!
  • Its never too late ive seen people on here turn it all around, a prime example was a poster who had i think a round 175k negative wealth she worked real hard her husband lost his job found a new one and now they have sold there house and paid it all off and now they start pastures new.... hats off to you you havent defaulted you have started somewhere, my saving grace was the fact when we reached our highest we were unable to get further credit so we needed to change and fast we didnt have the chance for 0% anymore so had to make changes and get on.... things happened in life and i realised life didnt boil down to money it boiled down to the memories you make with family and friends. No body really cares if its a standard cup of coffee they care about the chatting and banter ;) as the famous quote goes every passing minute is a chance to turn it all around :) xx

So true and very relevant to the last year of my husband and I. We must have been very unhappy to have got into this mess. But we're passed all that now, thank god.
