My first day was ok, lots of info to take in and my head hurts! I only bought milk today so a NSD apart from that. Paid doorstep collector £40 also but that was budgeted for. Aiming for 2 more NSD but I will need to do a top up shop on Thurs as DD going through coco pops rapidly!! I buy the asda own version though.

Glad it went well :D:D Its always knackering when you're new though, so much to remember, so many new people who inconsiderately dont wear name badges which would make things soooo much easier for you :rotfl: , tea break routines to figure out etc etc .....

More importantly, whats your new boss like?? :D

    Hi Tigz,

Glad to hear your first day at your new job went just fine ;)

In answer to your question - my outstanding loan balance is now about £2000 and I have £500 saved up towards it (can't overpay monthly but can end it early by paying the appropriate lump sum). So I've paid off nearly £9000 since I started in Feb last year which is pretty good since my take home pay is less than £12000 a year. Things have slowed down over the last few months as I have been using some of my cash for life's little pleasures.

For instance, I am going to be spending £230 on a weeks holiday in July - not very MSE but it is for attending a special event that will only come around once and I don't want to miss. Plus £230 for a week is pretty good going.

Continuing to sell stuff (mostly on the smallads list at work) even if I can only get a few pennies for it - every little helps. I am regularly surprised that I have things left to sell. Opened a cupboard at the weekend and found items to sell which I think will raise about £40.

Tomorrow I finally switch from my mobile phone contract which I was tied to a pay as you go account. This will save me £15 per month which is great. I have been waiting for this day for MONTHS!

lol :rotfl: well everyone does wear name badges being the NHS but it's hard to see the name sometimes! Boss is cool, everyone seems really nice. I'm working on the ward at times too so get to meet nurses etc.

It's a brand new post so it's hard not having a defined role and I have to organise the nurses office...lots of paperwork!!

Fab news!! You've done so well, amazingly well in fact. You must be feeling very proud of yourself. Well done.

I need to find some bits to sell over the w/end, I don't have much left tho  but I'm sure I can find something.

Great news about the mobile, I'm tied in for about another year, but I use it a lot.

My tax credits & CB went in today, after paying for DD's nursery I have £100 left. Need to do a shop so will work out what I need. It would be good to put £50 towards npower. I don't need petrol this week.

Job going well, enjoying it so far. Spent a fair amount of time on the ward today. Lots to learn... but my head doesn't hurt so much tonight.

I'm planning a night in front of the TV tonight....yay!

I had £20 go in from Quidco yest so that's going towards npower. I spent £9.20 at Morrison's yest in a top-up shop, I've got £80 in my bank and £10 in my purse. Aiming to put £50 towards npower on Tues (when my next lot goes in)

Today I need to take my new contract to HB office so they can re-assess my claim and collect some coin bags so can cash in coins at end of the month.

Other than that a lazy day, after 3 days at work!! lol DD is tired after 3 days at nursery, she normally only does 2 in a row.

Am hoping for a NSD today....

Aww thanks OneDay I used to love reading yours...hint hint :p

So far I've not spent any money, it's great doing this challenge it really makes you think before spending anything.

I've got £23 so far in various coins to go towards npower. I've taken the £80 out and put it away safely. I need to get some packed lunch stuff over the w/end and I've given myself £10 spends anything left will go towards npower.
