Wow, I really love the cake! I think I'm doing well when I make the cake, let alone ice it like that. Brilliant.

Rusty Check out the home-made cake thread on here, I think it's AnnieH who is a whizz at these.

Thanks Wifey, I asked once before when I wanted to make DS some, but it wasnt much help. I photographed a cake pop book in hobbycraft *oops naughty* so will just go for it I think ... if they are a disaster I can hide (read that as eat) the evidence!

Ok ... I need help with some logic.... most of you know the pain I went through over the last couple of years, well it is 10 months since I had my op ..... and those 10 months (after I could actually sit/walk etc) have been great, but 3 weeks ago I started getting twinging in my leg ... and now it is pain in my leg like before ..... however the logic says that as they removed the disc which caused all the pain then technically I dont have a disc pressing to cause the pain .... so why am I in pain?? LOL I went to docs on monday and he fobbed me off, told me that even though I have back pain (*which I never had ever before when I suffered the pain was always in the legs) then it is a mechanical back pain which I will be prone to because of my previous problems ... but here have a prescription for some useless painkillers and go pop some pills ..... so now I dont know what to do ... I dont trust the other Docs at that surgery because of the way they treated me when I eventually went with this problem right back at the start .... but the Doc I do trust I feel is fobbing me off!! ... any ideas?

Rusty, you're between a rock and a hard place so to speak. I would be inclined to ask your trusty doc for the name of a specialist in your type of problem, (not sure if you are orthopedic?) and get a private consultation. You can look up that specialist on the internet and get the info on him/her. Once you've got the private interview you should be able to get any treatment on the NHS. You suffered so badly last time I would hate for you to go through that again. I understand that there can be a moral problem with some people queue jumping etc, but the pain far outweighs that. I wish you luck, special person.

Cake Pops, either Google or Youtube, I'm sure I've seen a lady make them on there. Yep! Bakerella is the lady!

That cake is just squealing for a cozzie, off to see if I've got a blue or green one, so cold today in Essex that perhps the blue one would be better, it'll match me!

Thanks Wifey, I dont want to see my old consultant as he was horrid and fobbed me off for ages ... it took various ambulance trips (and lots of gas and air yummy) before they actually listened to me!! ... I know I cant go through that again, and I know I am not mentally strong enough to cope with that again, but need something to be done and hate being fobbed off .... the reason I got so bad last time was because I sat back and listened to docs!! Grr!

Will look later at bakerella, thankyou, and I can pick you up a nice green cossy in M&S, just heading down there now! LOL thanks for your help xx

Rusty - I second what Wifey says re private consultation. We don't you to suffer any more. My only independent thoughts - it could be scarring from the first op or a posture issue and because nerves in your leg are particularly sensitive it hurts more than it would in others - :eek:I'm not a doctor (I once had leg pain caused by not sitting 'properly' at my computer).

Crafty Louise - so glad they arrived ok after I'd sealed it up I wondered if it would be too thick for the Posties! :o but didn't have time to do anything about it. Will check your blog later - work calls.

Rusty, please check out with the nice doc about seeing someone other than the old consultant, he's in a position to get you an appointment with almost any doctor, no problem, it may mean you having to go further away to perhaps a teaching hospital that specialises in this type of problem. You may have to be a bit pushy but, when you can, take your Paul along with you as he may be able to stress to your doc how important it is to you AND the family that you are treated professionally and with the utmost courtesy. It wouldn't be fair on your little 'uns to see you in pain. I take my OH when it get's serious, he's like your man, not small by any means and mine can be somewhat imposing!!! If you can get him to go, make him stand behind with you sitting, it's in the body language.

Ooh a shiny new thread :D

    Thanks Savvy :T

No card making here at the moment as all my stuff is packed away so I can sort out the ebay piles !

Rusty - I echo what the others have said, but also, have you thought about changing GP ? If you don't trust yours anyway, there's no benefit to you staying at that surgery ? xx

This is all a bit confusing! Is there anything here about making cards? Like ideas?
