Next challenge is here
Artydoll has sent me some wonderful crafty card things including some gorgeous stamps which i am just about to play with. But first I must set a challenge.
Make a card, Christmas or otherwise, using something from your garden or local park -leaves, flowers or twigs etc. in other words something natural. There's some nice stuff out there at the moment.
I can't promise such a posh prize as artydoll sent but I will try to gather together a few bits as a prize.
How long should a challenge last?
Great challenge Kleopatra, challenge can last as long as you like ,though usually 2 to 3 weeks
Glad you liked your crafty bits ,now I,d better get my thinking cap on so I can design a natural card,Do the leaves and flowers have to be real or can they be fake?
My 2nd son has a birthday coming up,wonder if hed like a nice leafy card :rotfl:Earnings £245 in 2014:T thanks to swagbucks0 -
I think it would be nice if at least one bit is natural. The leaves are wonderful colours at the moment and some are skeleton like. you can press them under a heavy book if they're not flat.
That said, if it looks natural who will know?0 -
Where is everyone??
Nearly on page 5

Come and post we miss you
Have made some Chridtmas goodies at last, must update my blob, I have been very poor with my blob this year
*bump*
Hello Mad Frog  I'm here (sometimes!) Not had time for crafting lately so sadly nothing of interest to report, my blog has been sorely neglected too.
On the non-crafting front - We went on holiday as usual to Lanzarote in October and have had some alterations done on the house which should be finished in time for Christmas. Not my fave time of year so I've not done anything towards it yet:eek:. Cards will have to be *bought*:o Have you had any exotic holidays or are you planning an escape soon?0 -
Hi Marge
The only [Exotic] holiday I have had is a week in Porthcawl,South Wales, and that was when my youngest was 12,shes 38 now, lol.
Wish I had the dosh to go somewhere warm ,fed up with all this rain, its pouring again.
Trying to find some cheapish gifts for family ,made most of the families cards but neighbours are getting bought ones, found a box full at the back of a cupboard.Earnings £245 in 2014:T thanks to swagbucks0 -
Arty I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't go on holiday although unlike you I've never really wanted to. Our last one was 17 years ago a lovely week in my beloved Yorkshire.
I too am sick of the rain we have allotments and they are just mud.Usually when the weather is bad I make cards but it's so dark and I don't like working with the light on.
I have made some and plan more.
We buy very few gifts just really the granchildren although this year we're putting together a bit of a hamper for my eldest who is alone with her children after splitting with her partner of 18 yearsit will make Christmas strange and rather sad as he was very much one of the family:(:(

Hi Macma ,so sorry to hear about your daughter,my eldest daughter has actually gone and left her 2 teenage children,15 and 16 to be with a fella she met on the net,she has now gone to live in Hereford, she has her own house down near us and it renting it to be with him
This has broken the family apart,I,m not looking forward to Christmas again this year, last yeatr was bad as she left in the October before
I have 3 other children all grown up ,but we all used to meet at her house as it had the biggest lounge, used to be up at the crack of dawn to go up to hers, see what everyone had off Father Christmas
Thats enough of my troubles for today ,keep crafting all

Yooo Hooo!!
Evening ladies, I keep poppin in now and again but sadly I'm not doing much crafting at the moment. My frozen shoulder is still giving me some jip and by the time I have got home from work which is manic just now I don't really feel like doing much.
I have made my Christmas cards though and they are on my blob, nice and easy this time all done with my silhouette machine and die cuts so just had to assemble them.
I can't even remember the last time I bought any stash, the postie will be out of a job!
I have had a lot to deal with this last 6 months and could have easily given up on the craft stuff its only the thought of the vast amounts of money I have spent that makes me keep it. Once the shoulder is back to normal so might the crafting.
We're off on our hols in a few days, 2 weeks in the sun  then back for Christmas then off again for new year  We are both so ready for a nice warm break, its all inclusive and I have me kindle loaded up so sun bed here I come, nothing to do for 2 whole weeks
Oooo its nearly jungle time, that Helen Flanagan from Corrie, omg what a div. Better get the tea and biccies ready.......
Take care everyone xxxx0 -
Just came on here to start getting sorted for Christmas (I know bit late!!) its funny though macma i read your post and the same has happened to me as your daughter, my husband left in June after being together for 17 years and 3 kids together, he is now living with someone else  he was also one of the family to my parents and brothers/sister! I am taking the kids to spend the Christmas week with a friend which I am looking forward to, but its going to be very strange, hope you daughter has as good a Christmas as possible...and you too artydoll

I used to make all the family xmas cards before I went to college. Painted an xmas scene in watercolours, scanned it, and stuck it on some card in a festive colour. That was 5 years ago!
This year I'm making them again, inspired by a peacock ornament i bought in Liberty, I found various clip arts online, I'm going to draw a simple peacock, an old art teacher is lending me rubber lino and rollers so I can screen print onto paper, to attach to card and adding in bits with glitter. Can't wait to get crafty!
I always use neutral winter/y imagery, just for the sake of not everyone is religious/christian, esp some of my friends.0
