Well I have been fumbled with and had my sweep. The results......cervix long and soft (soft bit is good, but needs to be short i guess) and is posterior (another bad thing I believe as needs to be at the front) - she said (TMI) she managed to get 1 finger in and give it a good prod lol. I don't understand how the cervix can be at the back behind babys head as I though the cervix opened for baby to come out of so would it's head not be in it?!?!? Can anybody give me some advice??? How thick do i sound....at least I have asked a baby related question this time though!!

Another sweep booked for Saturday if nothing happens from this, then induction booked for next Tuesday if nothing still happens!!

Ooh by next Tuesday you'll have your baby flutterby, how exciting! I don't get the baby's head thing either, my friend had something similar explained to her, typically we never think of these questions when with the mw and they crop up when we're headed home!

Well not necessarily by next tuesday as being induced tuesday so could take a few days, did last time so id have thought by a week friday I will defo have my baby

Well I'm back. Just had to have an ice cream cos I hate appointments. They always make me really nervous.

All is good, my BP is still ridiculously low, head engaged, urine fine. She said she was surprised I was managing to breathe with my uterus being so high. I told her it was an ongoing struggle but tbh she didn't seem to care. Bless her!! I'm measuring 41 weeks so not surprising I am imitating a heffalump. Booked me in for a sweep at 40 weeks if baby is a no show.
She told me he's a beef cake and could make an appearance anytime but I think they say that to everyone so I shan't get my hopes up just to have them cruelly dashed when he stays put.
And my lovely, adorable son came with me and told her I was forever getting in the bath and having naps!!! She must think he's my slave, she has a point.

Right, I'll read back now and see what I've missed xx

Flutterby - i don't understand the cervix thing either. It baffled me this long, thin, short, ripe, effaced etc language they use. I'm of the mindset of just tell me when it's open and I'll push!

At least you have a date now and with any luck you will go into labour yourself before then.

Emsbet - I don't know anything about signing on but would it mean you would actively have to look for work?

I feel a bit crap about it. I'm not used to not being at work but I think stressing about getting enough hours temping probably isn't best and no one is going to give woman who's 17 weeks pregnant a permanent job.

I'm just going be positive about it. I get to sort out the house and get it ready for September, I don't have many friends round here so I won't be out spending money I don't have .

I think it does. I don't know whether they'd expect me to look for permanent work or just temp? I've never had to sign on before so I haven't really got any clue about it!

Good luck, Happy!

Just had my mum got me on Skype as I was talking with a friend. She oes my head in! Every time we speak I end up getting upset and annoyed with her! You sill have the twins be Easter, they will be here at 7 months, stop doing anything, don't lift your arms up, etc, etc, etc... Every time I tell her to stop, and she just starts again next time! It is talking to her that does more harm than anything else!

Emsbet - when my little man arrives I will come and visit you and while away your time. I like to come in handy. We could go for coffee. I think you need to take the path of least stress cos I'm not kidding, the time will start to fly by and when you start buying things and getting everything ready you will wonder how you could have fit work in. You and baby are the most important. Even this Robin will take a back seat xx

Oh dear Gin, you poor thing. Mum's really do think they know best and forget how much things have changed over the years.
