Yes we will have to change our car.
We are looking at getting something cheap but reliable. Going to splash put on a nice car next year as dp started his own business not long ago so money is really tight. Xx
Lovecrafting- just googled your car as I'm nosey!! I like the people carrier type cars hopefully next year we can look at getting one!!
its heavy on fuel but were running on veg oil so it does reduce the cost alot, altho i feel a bit like delboy and rodney going round looking for veg oil bargains lol.
comfort wise i cant fault it at all, i wouldnt want to put five in the back tho its fine for four with plenty of leg room, but five would be a squeeze0 -
Amymo - I would of thought a taxi would take you, just make sure you tell them your in labour so they can take waterproof sheets if they want!!
I would rather walk to hospital than my mum take me as she would probably insist on staying for the birth!! I would call security to kick her out!! Xxx:)DS1 10yrsDS2 7yrs :)DS3 born March 2012

I'm still unsure how I'm getting to the hospital or who I'm going to have there. Suppose I need to get that plan sorted out as I'm not sure hitch hiking is recommended when heavily pregnant.DS1 born June 2000

Yep, this is what I most fear, it's me and DH and that's it! He did seriously ask early in the pregnancy if his mum would be there for the birth - I went straight on the defensive asking "why? has she said she wants to be?" she hadn't and he was just asking bless him!0 -
Amymo - some taxis do refuse so good idea to check first. With my first I got an ambulance, taxis in our area wouldn't take in labour so no choice, did seem rather extreme but they were happy, that was years back though.
I've been looking at cars, can't afford but was window shopping & thought Estima looked good. We have a Touran which we like but it'll feel small with 6.0 -
Kabie - I like the Tourans too. You have all got to stop teasing ms with your big family cars!!
Just had a bath and now sent dp out for my weekend treat, family sized trifle all to myself
Don't think there is much chance I'm going to have baby early or on the due date now!! Seems to have been ages since we had an early/on time arrival on this thread!!

My mil would actually be worse than my own mum
She is the type to push the midwife out of the way so she could deliver baby herself!! I think I would rather sew myself shut and keep baby inside me forever then have her as my birthing partner!!

I suppose I was more annoyed that a midwife that I had never seen before, who had not even read my notes, and didn't know all the drugs I was on, could make a judgement call like that.
Yesterday I felt a little confused, today I feel strongly that medical professionals should stick to the facts and be a bit less open with their opinions around hormonal women, who are already stressed and unsure what the remainder of their pregnancy holds, health wise.
Does anyone know much about ebay? Got a parcel today, with several items in that I won from the same seller, pleased with the items, but she charged me £10 for postage and when it's come today, it cost her £3.18 to post? Is thast ok? I won some more stuff off her last night, one more item this time though and she has sent me an invoice through for £15 postage - think she is taking the mick a bit, it's only baby clothes!!! x x
Sorry Snoopy, didnt realise that previous scans and exams had both indicated a big size, thought it was a one-off scan (dont get a chance to read on here all the time). Have had friends who have been induced due to suspected size and have turned out to have average or smaller than average babies but thats not relevant with your diabetes.
Re the ebay thing, the seller is taking the mick. I would ask about less postage for the second parcel and if she doesnt make it more reasonable I would pay (to avoid a black mark as a non paying bidder) but leave low stars for postage.0 -
I agree Teerah, I think that eBay seller is being a little bit of a rogue!!
And Sammie - you have the nerve to laugh at my chocolate and listen to you with your trifle. My name is Sammie and I tie my partner up whilst eating trifle. Please help me!!!!DS1 born June 2000
