    Labour vibes to boldies x
Little Scott is v cute labour was hard but he was worth it.
    Birth story
I had on and off pains Saturday and Sunday evenings, Monday really kicked off at 7pm laboured at home until 2am then made our way in. Panicked that they were going to send me home but was 7cm. Laboured for about 5 hours gas & air. Could not sit or lie down since labour started so stood. Nearly had meptid but i changed my mind i wanted an epidural as they assessed that had not dilated anymore I knew needed it. Then they gave me an hour to push at midday Tuesday but could not get him out turned out he was back to back. Obviously they needed to help me so it was salad tongs so glad had already had epidural it meant when it got difficult they could sort it out quickly, was a bit like maternity ward without the theatre. All worked out and we are fine even though very sore. Had some stitches and episiotomy.
We only got out of hospital yesterday, house in baby chaos!!!
    We have been taken over!!
Take care all will try and read back and do piccies when I can
4nnabella your labour sounds like a dream !!
    Tc all

  • Hi folks,

Can I join in please? My first baby is due 2nd June. So I am 21 weeks pregnant today. I have a few questions that you might be able to help me with:

How often do the supermarkets have baby events? I see Mr T and Mr A have baby events at the moment and I'm wondering if they will have another one before mid - May. Buying nappies and stuff now just feels a bit too eager.

On the other hand, a large baby store near us has a great deal on a travel system, including car seat for about £180 - should we get this now while it's on sale or are there always sales in some shop or another?

Is there a list of all the baby clubs you can sign up to in order to get freebies?

Has anybody tried re-usable nappies? On a scale of one to ten, how much hard work are they?

Has anybody had a waterbirth? Would you recommend it? My hospital has 2 delivery suites (out of 16) with birthing pools and I'm wondering how likely it is to be able to get one of them if I requested one.

Re baby furniture, my husband is keen to spend a lot of money (about £600-700) on decent furniture, including cot bed, wardrobes, chest of drawers, as we plan on having more than one (or two) babies. Is this a waste of money? Do babies/toddlers inevitably end up ruining everything with permanent markers/sharp pencils/anything they can get their hands on or is it possible that the furniture will still be decent in 4-5 years time?

Sorry - alot of questions, but I'm an innocent newbie!

    Thanks,

    Nora B xxx

Welcome Norabatty, I'm a first timer too but I bet someone with kids already will answer your questions! There was a baby clubs post just a few pages back in the old Club 23 thread

Oh it's a food related post again! We had Wagamama tonight, I am stuffed and under my ribs feels a bit sore but it was some good eating and I had a pud too! Something like a little hand or foot popped out of my side at work today, that was new and interesting, has a chuckle to myself in our team meeting! I will miss being pregnant I think!

Pram is ordered so I feel like we're getting somewhere, got this changing bag with Boots points and Christmas money, extravagant (for me anyway!) but I like it! http://www.boots.com/en/Skip-Hop-dash-bag-wave-dot_1160836/ saw a lovely one in JL but couldn't bring myself to pay £120 for a changing bag as much as I love handbags I keep thinking of all the other things we could get/do for LO with that money! I got a few more packs of nappies in Boots too, and a little baby care set with thermometer, brush nail, scissors etc.

Oh and good news, NCT refunded our classes so we have booked nearer to home at half the price with a lovely lady, looking forward to going along from 10th Feb!

I'm watching Jaws. God knows why.
Also contemplating having something to eat, bellys rumbling like mad.

Quite disturbed that I can feel what I think is bubs shoulder at the bottom of my bump. It's most uncomfortable lol.

Nora. Try this thread for all baby clubs and vouchers. :)

I'm hoping for a water birth this time, but it depends if that room is available at the time you go in at our hospital. No pre booking allowed.
So not getting my hopes up.

£180 for a travel system sounds good. What brand is it?

And welcome to the thread x

Ro and Annabella - well done!

Perennial massage, my DH has been doing this for me for the last 2 weeks of and on. It is a little stingy, but you can feel the results in about a week, so hopefully it will make a difference when the time comes. DH was a little reluctant to do it at first, but it has been fine, we are probably going to have to work on stuff being sexy again in the future. Threw caution to the wind and DTD, don't tell the consultant, but I figure it can only put me into labour now and as I'm technically full term it should be fine.
:ANeeding to save all the money, lots of MSE learning still to do

Carmilla. Your secret is safe with us :D

My OH won't DTD now, he says knowing Bump is engaged and his head is down there makes him feel not right. Gutted lol.
