I did - yes! Well remembered. Bloods have been great for this last week so not had to go onto Insulin yet - sticking with the tablets - so very happy.
Scan was amazing, the detail this time with her being bigger was so so good, saw fingers, ribs etc and she was sucking her thumb again which again which just melted my heart and made me cry because you could physically see her jaw going up and down and the thumb going in and out - awww.
Anyway - 2 weeks ago she was 3lb 9oz, yesterday she was 3lb 14oz, so growth has slowed down lots - but not enough to let me go any further than 38 weeks, but I am happy with that! Another scan in 2 weeks though, so I think I might have caught up with Lisa as that will be number 8, and by the time I have finished will have had 9!!! lol xMarried the Man of my dreams 30/08/2008Baby No.1 arrived 04/04/2012, gorgeous little girl after 4 years of fertility issues!!:j:T0 -

Hey ladies. Hope everyone and bumps are well.
I've been back in hospital with the blood pressure, they eventually decided to up the tablets to 500mcg methyldopa 4 times a day - but were very insistent it's evenly spaced at 6 hour intervals, so that means setting an alarm for during the nightHopefully it might come down a little now though.
Has anyone seen any Mothercare codes floating around recently? Would like to put in an online order but I just can't do it without a discount!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Your right - it doesn't stop you worrying, but I always feel better now after I have walked out as this team really seem to care enough to want to put your mind at ease!
We are about growing the little lumps at the same rate aren't we? After saying how pleased I am with my results this last week, they have now gone up again, and I need to ring the Diabetes Nurse at the end of the week and she will likely tell me to start the insulin - gulp. But whatever is necessary!
And I don't know about you - but I was a big person before being pregnant, this little lump of a lady is not helping lol x xMarried the Man of my dreams 30/08/2008Baby No.1 arrived 04/04/2012, gorgeous little girl after 4 years of fertility issues!!:j:T0 -
Yes im well padded aswell and starting to resemble a beached whale!!!
My consultant wants to see how much Mr WriggleChops has grown and then discuss a plan of action with me and thats the scary bit. The timer seems to be flying now.
I hope you get on ok with the nurse and if she tells you that insulin is best then thats all you can do. Its good that you feel you are being looked. I saw a different midwife last week and she was awful. She asked if my risk factor was high BMI, erm yes love, unless you cant see properly. Then proceeded to assum my blood pressure was without consulting my notes. The two dont go hand in hand and i hate the assumption that just cos you are bigger means you have other health problems. I took great delight in telling her my BP is always faultlessly normal. I just grin and bear it and curse on the way out xxDS1 born June 2000

*hugs* to everyone who needs them.
I think it's important to share information when things go wrong rather than perpetuating the myth that pregnancies are always easy. Just because something is natural does not mean it is easy - the same with breastfeeding, it's natural but that doesn't mean mothers don't need to support in order to continue. If pregnancy was always easy, so much research and resources wouldn't go into screening programmes and the prevention of infant/maternal deaths.
As for One Born Every Minute - surely if people don't think they should be showing couples who've had a stillbirth they don't have to watch it?
Before TTC I always thought I wouldn't complain about being pregnant as it's something I chose to do and I don't feel like I have the 'right' to moan as we were very lucky and we conceived easily. BUT although I love the knowledge I'm having a baby, pregnancy has so far been stressful and painful and I'm not very good at suffering in silencePlus I'm paranoid about something going wrong given my own medical history though not so much now I've gone past 24 weeks
Hmmm I've kinda lost the thread of what I wanted to say (spend 4 hours in bed today with a severe headache, got up about an hour ago and now it's back)....
I guess in general, I think people should feel able to share the bad things not just the good ones without feeling like they're a failure, or that people are pitying them or that they are dragging others down.
This morning I had my 24 week midwife appointment, everything seems fine and was told to stick with taking paracetomol only and stay in bed when in pain - it's a really good job I'm not working but it's messing up my ability to study.
Next midwife appointment is at 32 weeks as I have a scan and obstetrician appointment at 28 weeks - booking an appointment for 32 weeks made it feel very close to D day even though really it's quite a long way away.
Hugs to everyone, enjoy your pancakes0 -

I really really must annoy some doctors who you see mentally working down their "high BMI list of doom" determined to find one of the things wrong with me - the evil consultant looked gleeful when I mentioned the SPD as finally having something to nail on my BMI (then the physio shot her down by saying that she gets marathon runners in there felled with it during pregnancy).
Closest they've come is a few "oooh you're measuring bigs" - well yeah, you've got a fair few inches of pre-pregnancy spare tyre to add into that fundal measurement (thankfully the midwife accepts it's a bit of a useless measurement with me!), hubby's very very very tall - the odds are this isn't going to be a dinky lil sort... expecting the consultant to start broaching induction and things I don't want to consider based purely on that measurement soon.
It's always reassuring when medical women cross their legs and cringe when they learn how tall the baby's father is :rotfl:!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
I agree dizzi. My baby's father, who I refer to now as the sperm donor since he abandoned me, is 6ft 5 and so I know the odds are against me having a tidgy little baby. Sometimes it does feel like he's gonna come out walking he feels do big.
The doctors have been ok with me so far it was just this random midwife. Although I do find generally that if you are carrying excess weight it is always the case that doctors blame your weight. I understand thy it's not the best but I don't smoke or drink and so if I'm carrying a bit of excess padding then I'm not gonna panic. XxDS1 born June 2000
