If the hospital is anything like mine, they give you loads of leaflets and info before you leave about all the groups in your local area, breast feeding support classes, baby massage, baby yoga etc.

I've not even had a chance to look at mine yet though and AJ is 3 weeks old today

  • Hi All - hope everyone is feeling ok. Congratulations to those of you who have had your babies recently, and labour vibes to those of you who need them!!!

I have posted on the newborn thread already, but wondered if any of you would mind telling me which type of mattress for moses basket/crib/cot you have purchased and why? I am completely confused by all the brands available and clueless as to which ones I should get lol!!

    Thanks ladies!

Rubbish isn't it - just want to get out and do something!

    Am bored, bored, bored!

I know baby will be coming week 36/37 so as I am31 weeks now - it's not too far away, yeah think I will go pack a bag lol!

Plus because I am bored, I want to eat, and all I want is cake and choc which I am not allowed because of the diabetes - ho hum!!!! x x

As i`ve said on here before, i`d be well and truely stuffed if i had diabetes, i eat so much chocolate its unreal! And also coke and fruit juice  Gonna need some serious motivation to lose this baby weight in a few weeks!
The sun is shining here now, but coz its been raining all day its soaking out there, cant even take the girls to the park!!! x

Thanks Ro xx I`m just hoping it doesnt all come back again over night! Why is toothache/earache always worse at night?!!!

I`m seriously contemplating a hot curry tonight (and i dont eat spicy food at all!) 39 weeks isnt too soon to be hopeful it might work is it?!!!

I`ve mopped and swept thru the downstairs, and am officially pooped now ;) xx

Getting worried about Mozzy, it's even longer than me now  thoughts are with her.

Go for the curry Emmy, I'm convinced it started me off, I had twinges, and decided to eat a hot curry, and then the full blown contractions started :D

Just ask for a chicken/beef (whatever you fancy) curry extra hot. I actually only had curry sauce and rice but it seemed to work for me.

The moses we have is a borrowed one - since they used it about twice, and it fell off where they had it balanced so they didn't use it again - we haven't bothered with a replacement mattress to be honest (although we did buy the proper stand for it).

Cot - we got a mattress as part of the deal - it's not an amazingly good sprung one - but since it's not a cot-bed (we wanted the flexibility to move it into the bedroom if needs be and cot beds would have been too big for that) we're probably not going to be using it as long as many would... it's one of the one-notch up from basic Kiddicare models if you get what we mean by that.
