  • Just received the Maxi Cosi carry cot we bought off Ebay for our Mura, so pleased with it, came direct from Dorel all brand new and prefect. If any one else is buying Maxi Cosi stuff I would really recommend their ebay shop; Babyvalue. I would think the carry cot we bought is now a discontinued colour (its just black) and I managed to get it for £69.99 including delivery, it retails at £145!!

That's amazing Laura! I love getting a bargain.

We finally collected our Christmas present last night from the in-laws, the video camera, so I've been playing about with it while OH is at work, since I'm not allowed to touch it otherwise

Lirin is coming to visit with baby Rose today, excited to see them both :D

Anyone have exciting plans for the weekend?

Bibs.....will I actually use them? I don't have them on my list as I thought you used muslins instead these days until you start weaning but perhaps I should get some?

I have about 12 bibs. I'm planning on baby having a bib, me covered in muslin. :rotfl: and hopefully with bib and muslin it'l help keep the sick off his clothes. Double barrier protection

Good point, also MIL pointed out that its good protection for clothes if you have a dribbly baby (as apparently DH was). I guess for the sake of a few quid I might as well get a few!

I got mines from Tesco and Boots. Think the ones from Tesco were about £3/£4 for 5. They're a mixture of plain white, and plain white with little tiny grey paws on. The ones I got from Boots I got when they were doing 3for2 across all baby products, otherwise I probably wouldn't have got them. M&S have some nice ones in too and not too expensive :)

  • I think I had always thought that bibs were for round their necks, muslins were for over my shoulder etc when burping, and for extra clothing protection when feeding, also with nieces and nephews it has stopped sore necks if they are dribblers! I only have neutral ones so far, so might pick up a few pink cute ones lol.

I tumble dry fleece blankets too - the trick if you don't have a temp control like me on your tumble dryer is to put on for only 20 minutes at a time as it doesn't get too hot before then, heat picks up after 20 minutes! I have got about 6 fleece blankets of different shapes and sizes so plenty (I think as long as you have enough to replace when one gets, pood, weed or sick'd on then you will be ok. I also have 2 cellular (I hate them - they feel funny), and some thin cotton ones as it won't be long before summer, and 2 gro bags! x x

Glad everything is fine love crafting :D must be such a relief, with the problems you've had in the past. My fingers are like fat fat fat sausages at the moment! Last time I weighed myself I'd put on 10lbs, checked the other day I've put on a stone and a half  hoping a lot of that is baby and all the extras that entails.

Not loving being at work today after another lousy nights sleep, despite my dream genii I seem to roll kind of half onto my back with my shoulders onto the bed but still on my left with my legs, my body obviously finds it comfy to sleep twisted like that but my back doesn't like it the next day!

Am v nervous, have a meeting about our funding arrangements and likely cuts this afternoon, could put a downer on the weekend but I am feeling well prepared, DH has promised we can go into town to order our pram tonight as a treat regardless of the outcome!

Re blankets, I find this most confusing! My mam said she had sleeping bags for us but that she still used sheets and or blankets over the top as they're sleeveless, so much conflicting advice and I find the more I read the more questions I have! So far we have four fitted cot sheets, one cotton blanket and four small flannel blankets I bought for swaddling but I have no idea whether they're ok for swaddling or not! It's a big safety issue and worry wart that I am I'll probably end up with more than we'd ever need to cover every eventuality!

Also, anyone notice a normal sleeping bag is around £12 in lots of places, an FSIDs recommended one can be upwards of £20, so much to think about!
