Gilly, hope you are keeping ok!

Lovecrafting, it is gre that things have arrived! I keep looking at the Moses basket, but still haven't dared to order it! We sold the fish tank on eBay tonight and two of my coats that I don't wear anymore and found a couple Moses baskets stands for £5 and less close by. So, even if I get the basket new, at least I can save on the stand!

Gilly- hope you are doing okay hun just gonna mention about the poo thing in case it's stopping you eating. I have no idea if I pooed when I gave birth and quite frankly did not give a damn if I did! So if you are able to eat anything do as you do need it think you might have said you ate some chocolate but can't remember now but posting this anyway cos I know I was worried about the p word but honestly it's waaaaay down the worry list when you give birth I was waiting for Scott to scream which he did very loudly twice lol

    Hi Ladies,

I've been stalking this thread for months now but this is my first post! first off, good luck Gilly!
About the question of the midwives saying if you can talk through the pain ignore them I'd say! I went into labour on Monday afternoon, and rang the hospital at 1530 to say my contractions were 3 minutes apart and should I come in. They told me that as I sounded fine, I should just have 2 paracetamol and wait a few hours before going to the hospital.
Husband got home at 1600, and I decided that actually things were progressing quicker than expected. Not to put too fine a point on it, I then said I just needed the loo before we left for the hospital, and before I knew it I had given birth to Timmy! :jHe actually landed in the toilet lol. Luckily my husband was on the phone to triage at the time, so just dropped the phone and passed him to me!!
Midwife turned up 15 minutes later and told us our 8lbs 9ozs bruiser was perfectly fine, just maybe a bit shocked by the experience.
So the moral of the story is, if in doubt, it's best to head in to the hospital!!

    Hello and Omg !!!!!

luckily i already had them from the last kids they were just being stored in my mother in laws garage, but since y brother in law was in england today with work he aid he would drop them off just in case baby makes an appearance. the moses basket has been used for my hubby, all three of my kids and my sister in laws 2 the only thing thats needed anything is the matress.

the pram has been used for all three of my kids and is still as good as new so i am just replacing the matress for the carry cot part because dd2 had a machine and dd3 was in it for quite a wile, i noticed its a bit shabby now so replaced it. and the cot was used for hubby and all the kids aswel its still solid as the day it was made, its old fassioned (hubby is 43 and it was new then) but it does the job perfectly.

re moses baskets, are you on facebook? most areas have a selling page (my area has about 20) they generally go for about ten pounds for the basket and stand.

Ooooh good luck Gilly! Hope things are progressing a bit more now. Although we will def miss you on here!

Had a day off work today and DH was home too as he's nights tonight. We went and bought our car seat and base so have nearly everything now!!

When we got in this afternoon we did some tidying and sorting out and managed to get rid of a load or carp from the cupboards. Thats a start on sorting the house for the baby arriving! We need to move lots of stuff around to make room for the baby stuff and now I should have enough room to do what I need to!

Looking forward to Sunday, I have Snoopy and another girl coming round to talk babies!!! Ooh that reminds me, must send my list to work to print so I can compare with snoopy!!

Just been catching up on all the excitement - GOOD LUCK GILLY! :j :j :j

You can do it girl, it's what you were made to do, and what the past 9 months have been gearing towards. Try to rest if you can, even just sitting with your eyes shut is better than nothing. Although it might not seem like it now, in a very short time you will be holding your little baby and will have forgotten all about this bit. Can't wait to hear all about how gorgeous LO is! :)

    ((Hugs))

Hope everyone else is ok :)

I have had another killer headache all day and felt exhausted by home time today, came home and had to have a nap instead of going to the gym :o

Still haven't watched OBEM from the other night, don't feel emotionally up to it yet as I know it's a particularly teary one! :D

i was gifted (given free) my moses basket and stand, then my moses basket liner then my fitted sheets all from facebook, so is definately worth having a look on fb i bought a brand new safety mattress on ebay for 4.20

if you check on ebay you can sometimes get things locally for 99p if they are listed as collection only
as people dont always pay attention to the collection only bits

  • Me too! I passed my test over 20 years ago and haven't driven since but it's just going to be impossible to do anything with a 3 year old and a baby without a car. The thought is just so terrifying though, I keep finding excuses not to but I've really got to bite the bullet & get some reccommendations for an instructor.

I'd rather do it before the birth so really need to get a move on...

Same here! - I passed my test a few weeks before my 18th and haven't really driven since - I'm going to be 32 this year

Definitely need to get it sorted - I've still got a paper license with my old address on. I've ordered the form online tonight to get it changed to get things in motion.
