Morning all.
Had a pretty good night's sleep despite the rain hammering on our velux windows! Woke up early though with braxton hicks, bubs in a very awkward position right over on one side and with feet in my ribs, plus I've got what feels like trapped wind...
Grim-looking day here, but at least I don't have anything to do which requires going outside...maybe I'll have a pj day for once!
Oh, LMM, meant to say, I'm so sorry about your friend, that's awful

LOL We are all at it! I didn't sleep til gone 130 and then I was wide awake at 7. Woke every 1-2 hours to turn over - damn hips! Still im up now. Going to town for my hospital bag stuff today. Dunno what to get lol. Think i'll start with breastpads and those big pads and go from there!Another one awake at a silly hour, woke up with sore hips, a dry mouth and needing a wee. Then I decided I'm hungry so had to pop downstairs for some food.

Morning all - I'm another one who didn't get much sleep - although I have a very good reason. I gave birth to the most beautiful little girl on Monday morning!!:j:j:j after 30 hours of labour . I don't want to freak all the lovely pregnant ladies out but I think it's fair to say that I was unfortunate and had a rather painful one. Being a first timer, my body took a long time to figure out what was happening so even though they started out only 3 minutes apart, it still took 14 hours of having contractions every 3 minutes at home before my waters broke and when I got to the hospital, I was still only 2cm dilated. A low blood platelet count ruled out the water birth I was hoping for, and it also ruled out an epidural which I would have used because the process just took so long. By the time I was 10cm dilated, I had been in labour for over 26 hours. After two and a half hours of seriously determined pushing, the baby just couldn't make her head around the bend so I was sent to theatre, given a spinal, an episiotomy (along with the large tear I managed to get while in labour/pushing) and a forceps delivery at 8.30am.
Couldn't believe it when they announced it was a girl! I've been convinced for the last 9 months I was having a boy. Anyway, I know all mothers say this, but she really is beautiful. All the midwives in the labour ward commented that they'd never seen a newborn with so much hair!! She looks absolutely nothing like me or DH either! I'd do it all 10 times over because she's just so adorable!
Anyway, I got home Tuesday evening after pretty much insisting on it - they wanted me to stay another night but I couldn't handle another night of listening to other people's babies crying and constantly checking if it's yours. You can't sleep in a communal labour ward!! Breastfeeding was a real chore the first few days and was ready to give up but a community midwife visited yesterday and showed me a much easier way of doing it than I was taught in the labour ward and we've been feeding every 3 hours or so since. She's great during the day, she's not a fan of the moses basket though - she sleeps fine in your arms or lying on a pillow on the sofa during the day when someone can watch her but it means I ended up giving up on the idea of sleeping around 4am and have been watching her sleep on the sofa for the last three and a half hours. Going to wake her up now for a feed and then let DH take over on the babysitting front so I can catch some sleep.
Any suggestions on how to get over the moses basket conundrum gratefully accepted! She falls asleep in my arms in no time, when I put her down in the moses basket, she starts whimpering after about 3 minutes. Will usually make plenty of "crying in her sleep" noises for anywhere between 5 and 30 minutes before she resorts to full on crying.Overpay Mortgage by £9,100 in 2013 - £9,316.16/£9,100

Hi everyone
Many many congratulations Jovi on little Max :happyhear - another gorgeous name! Hope you are both home very soon xxx
BB - gorgeous bump and nursery pictures! Glad to hear you are planning a rest day today! Regarding stockpiling - on my list I have toilet rolls, freezer and tin good, tea/coffee etc, shampoo/conditioner etc - and lots of dog food!
Very sorry to hear about your friend LMM
- Big hugs to all who need them, well done to all on exciting purchases and exams (have only just flicked through this morning)
Well, a somewhat interesting day yesterday - I have to confess that I was very close to being a queue jumper (but I'm 15th on the list so its not a huge leap really!) Went to midwife clinic in the afternoon for BP reading as it was slightly high last week. It was much higher yesterday - they made me wait for half hour but it was the same again so they took bloods and sent me to the hospital. Got there at 4.30pm and had the heart mointor thingy on - baby all fine :j measuring spot on, heartbeat fine and 2/5 enagaged. So no concerns there but BP still refusing to come down. At one point there was talk of me being induced (and all I could think was that my mum and dad are away until Friday so who would look after the dog!) but at 10pm  it was decided I could go home. I have to have BP reading at home today by midwife and back to hospital Friday afternoon for further tests.
I'm trying to stay as relaxed as possible, the only thing that has worried me is that if it stays like this - even if I don't get induced - I will be put on consultant led care which means a waterbirth is out of the window. But I'm not dwelling on it - the most important thing by far is the safe arrival of baby Triangle, however which way
Have a good day all, take care xxxMFW!
