    Afternoon ladies!
    Hope everyone is feeling good!

I'll second what Rebekah and Rhj are saying......it's scary that we're moving up the list so fast eeek!!

It was my last day at work yesterday (wooooooooo!!!!!) so we all went out for a lovely meal last night, had a right laugh! Kept getting asked, ahhh bet it's weird leaving work isn't it? Er, no!! I'm so excited! Can u tell I'm happy about it? :-)

Today is my baby shower! My two besties and SIL are coming round at 2pm to set things up so I'm getting kicked out for a couple of hours, will go and sit round my mums. Got about 25 people coming so will be a crazy afternoon but very excited!

OH has been in Bournemouth all weekend on a stag do so it's good that I've been kept busy really. When he's been away before I miss him of course but it's only a few days and I've been ok but being pregnant I just feel weird that he's not here if that makes sense?

Anyway, I'm going off on one again, just wanted to check in and hope everyone's ok and having a good weekend.

    Hugs xxx

    Hiya everyone,

I had my 28 week appointment with the midwife today which went really well. She measured me at 28cm which sounds perfect for my weeks and showed me how the baby was lying, which makes a lot of sense as I mainly get kicks and movement from where she pointed out where the legs/feet should be. I keep stroking the side of it's back and bum now as well :)

I forgot to ask her about the pins and needles I get just under my ribs though. Any suggestions?

She booked us in for the maternity unit tour and today I realised I'm in my final trimester so feel like I'm on the home strait now!

Had a big charity event day out yesterday and was on my feet quite a bit. Caught up with some old friends who all said I looked fantastic which made me feel lots better! There were a few babies there but I couldn't have cuddles cos I have a stupid cold. I still can't believe I've got one of those in my tummy...

    Hope everyone's having a nice weekend x

I can do me on top but I a bit bored with that. Anybody got any suggestions??

Reverse cowgirl? More seriously perhaps how about being inventive but without the actual penetration?

    Afternoon ladies :)

We went to the baby show at the NEC this morning, it was really good. We've ordered our travel system, the Uppababy Vista :j Was really good to be able to compare all the ones on our shortlist in the same place :) Won't be delivered til 1st October though. Bought a widgey BF cushion/babynest as well, and a MAM starter set of bottles (plus 2 free small bottles :), and a manual breastpump, both half price. Not planning on regular expressing, but may want to for the odd occasion, so thought a manual one compatible with the bottles was the way to go. It was getting super busy when we left at lunchtime, if you're going to one make sure to get there when it opens so you can look around before the rush! I'm knackered now though, so quiet afternoon/evening for us :o

We've got the uppababy vista. It's the most lush thing in the world :)

But that's the best bit lol. With previous partners I would have been more inventive with other things but with current other half it's all about the awesome penis lol. Sorry tmi!!!

Stop having babies!!!!!! I'm half way up the list *Petrified*

Got 1st antenatal class on Monday night. Any tips/owt I need to take/do/prepare?

I had my first (of two) NHS antenatal classes last week. There's nothing you need to take and nor do you need to prepare.

I found it pretty useful actually. I come on here and I've got baby books and I read up a lot on stuff so there wasn't an awful lot that I didn't already know but what I found really useful was that, because it was a local midwife, it was very much tailored to what to expect from the hospital I'm going to.

Whilst much of labour and birthing is pretty standard, each PCT does things a bit differently and I found it invaluable finding stuff out about my local hospital, e.g. whether I could have a water birth despite being 'high risk' (high blood pressure), whether they have birthing balls, etc. I have taken a virtual tour of my local maternity ward but it's not very informative. It was good to be able to ask questions.

Make sure you take the OH/birthing partner. My husband found it really interesting.

Erm....not sure I should be walking in here during the middle of that conversation...but anyway.... :rotfl:

I have £120 to spend at Tescos in the voucher swap. I'm trying to figure out what to get with it. Possibly a baby monitor...any suggestions? Or alternatives that I can spend it on - I'm thinking bigger stuff than perhaps I've thought of (not nappies/wipes etc).
